I use it to research what people in my niches are looking for so I can give it to them. In the form of an affiliate link of course

Seriously though it helps me write good ad copy when I know what people with a particular problem are searching for and the types of answers they need.

But that's from an affiliate's perspective

Yahoo answer doesn't help in seo; one of my friend get 3 quaries (client) from yahoo answer though.

i think you could get some traffic if you include your link in your answer, provided that you get the right answer others wanted. but would someone report you and risk being banned?

I have gotten a bit of traffic from it. It's important to post a good answer with lots of facts about something you really know well. Then some visitors may come to your site to learn more.

Why do some links in yahoo answers show up as backlinks even though they are no follow?

Yahoo answer is best way to get opinions from all over the world. I use it sometime to find niche for my websites.

Yahoo Answers would literally explode in terms of traffic and use if they would allow a "signature" like most forums do.

Imagine all the webmasters signing up to Yahoo Answers and posting there instead of forums... What a thought :P

doubtful that it would reduce the crap we get here though, the spammer SE companies would just employ some more numpties to post there as well!

We get lot of direct traffic from yahoo answer.

You can get a quorum and some good immeidate feedback if you have an issue, but it really feeds their search engine with self linking backlinks to their own domain discussions. I find it helpful when there is a way to get some support or advice when your normal channels are offline, you never know who might be cruising.

Yahoo answers can be a good source of traffic but this may depend on your answer... If your answer is really interesting and useful and chosen as the best answer, then this may attract members to click the links and see its content...

you may get visitors to your site by clicking on your site link on Y answers but those links wont count as banklinks

Yahoo answer service is good but when are you post your link in answer so answer post link is "No Follow" ......
