Personally I'd value a site at a lot more than 3 months income. If selling a site I would expect at least a year's income in payment. For 3 months income it's not worth selling....
Value is in the eye of the beholder. LookSmart bought Zeal for $20 million. In my opinion, it wasn't worth even $1 million.
I've sold websites for $10,000 that I wouldn't have paid $1000 for.
It's a good domain, and not a bad design. Forums, however, don't live or die on design, domains, or even traffic. Income potential is the criteria for determining worth, and a hosting forum has potential for high income.
