I bought the domain a couple of years ago as soon as I saw it for sale, I thought it was perfect for this sort of site and im pretty happy with the end result.
This site is a general knowledge site, with a HUGE amount of searchable data.

We all know what a dictionary is, I think what is most impressive about this section is the sheer number of words and meanings that are listed in the database. Searchable and browsable, much like the majority of the site.

What reference site would it be without a famous quotes section?
* On This Day

You pick the date and it will tell you of some significant events and births on that date.

A very comprehensive list of names, their origins and meanings.

A pretty diverse list of recipes
from all over the globe.

One of the more impressive collections of computer game cheats, up-to-date aswell... I mean whats the point of knowing the cheats on the original mario and not the new ones?

Thats a total 407349 individual pieces of information, now what is worth remembering is that the vast majority of these records have their own page, which means the site will have at an estimate 350000 - 400000 pages to it that Google will no doubt be hard at work scouring... and its a hugely diverse range of information aswell. So you get visitors looking for the latest Xbox360 cheats aswell as the people looking some famous quote to fit into their school work.
Also all those seperate sections of the site run off seperate tables of the same database, so it would be very very easy to make other websites and use the data in the LookThisUp database. So you could pretty easily make a website SOLEY about computer games and include a cheats section using the cheats database - and the same applies for pretty much every section of the website. Thats the potential of having 11 new websites...

Revenue from AdSense would obviously go up if you can get some more visitors to the site... I cant, im really not good at making a website grow.
I guess the same theory would mean the Kontera revenue with some time and effort working on building up the traffic. And as for the private advertising...

A good amount of traffic comes from Google, again as much as I hate repeating things I really want to put across that there is alot for Google to see. At the time of writing this (a couple of days before I post the listing...) Google had indexed over 20000 pages of the site (

... so Averaging about 500 uniques a day. This is with no paid advertising, Ive submitted to a couple of directorys a while ago and Ive put the URL in my sig on some forums but nothing other than that.

I should explain as to why im selling this site. Well Ive thought about getting rid of the site for the sole reason that I *truly* like the site and would like it to grow, Im also aware that Im not capable to getting the site to 'the next level'.
Secondly is that the chances of me getting this site to grow have decreased due to the fact of getting a new job, this job is going to be taking up alot of my time which will leave me with even less time to develop the site.
The site takes as much time and effort a day/week as you want to put into it. If you dont update the cheats section then eventually it'll become redundant - but the rest of the site is fairly consistant. I guess there are more Windows processes than the ones Ive managed to find and the file extensions sections could hold more but other than that I truly believe the site itself is sound - and now its mainly a case of knowing how to help a site grow.
