This is my own personal website to promote my web design business. I just finished creating it. It's valid xhtml 1.0 strict and valid css. It also uses Greybox and jQuery. Please comment and give suggestions on anything about the website!

Hip is the first word that comes to mind. Love the use of ajax to make the page simple and intuitive. The large text and contrast, I would imagine, may make people who are not entirely computer savvy more confident in what they are doing. I like it. Good job and good luck in your business.

I would make your client worksheet another page on your site, rather than using a word document though.

Thank you! I did make it a word document because they can save it, use it as reference or complete it in stages. I may add more file types such as PDF.

This is just me, but I thought the bulleted list in the middle of the page was the navigation...

I do love the header, tho... excellent blurred yellow-orange warm space that should get you some good mileage in terms of flexibility for mixed content underneath...

"What we do: We create unique web brands. We bring your ideas to the web"

Again, this is just me, but after hearing about "creating unique brands and bringin ideas to the web" I want to see those unique brands and ideas, pronto. The list of coding/approaches seems like it would fall under an area called "How we do it" or something to that effect...

Hope that helps... in all, I like the site.

This site makes a great first impression. I would change the hover effect for the links since th contrast doesn't show up very well. then again i'm viewing it on 1600 X 1024 so that might have an effect.

That's something I most likely will change to a deeper gold colour. Thank you for your comments!

Looks pretty nice, the only thing that looks a bit 'out-of-whack' is that there is so much empty prime real-estate in the header. Make is smaller or add some functions or text or something in the big empty space.

Certainly one of the better sites I have seen on this forum thus far.

Bravo on the Web 2.0 layout. Absolutely gorgeous.

As you know there isn't much content on the site so you're not going to rank well with SEO until you start adding some textual content.

I love the color scheme!

Well thought out site both front and back end - even your CSS source is labelled.

As already mentioned theres very little content for SE to grab hold of. Youve gone to a lot of trouble to include hierarchical headings even though the H1 is off page (sneaky ). I'd fill the h1 with a keyword rich phrase rather than your company name and make the other headings count - just my view.

Cant fault it really.

Very nice indeed, clean design and nice clean valid code. Good job !

I don't think it's necessary to change the header, the concept of white space is lost on too many people. It's just not necessary to cram a lot of useless 'stuff' in just because you can.

It is a tad confusing that there is no central navigation, people look for that, I know I did. It's not immediately evident that you only really have the 1 page. If you intend to grow it, then I would assume that would change ?

The GreyBox is very cool, nice touch. Growing your portfolio will go a long way too.

As for the SEO angle.. everybody is spending too much time and probably losing sleep worrying about Google and 'page rank'. If you build it correctly (and you have), they WILL come. No matter what you do, it will STILL take months to 'get noticed' thanks to Google's 'aging' guidelines for new sites. I'd leave the <h1> alone, you've accomplished the FIR well enough and it works perfectly for accessibility. Don't trash it with meaningless words.
