Hi!

I have setup a new directory portal service:

DirPort.com

I'm hoping that I can get some comments from some of the members here.

Although DirPort.com membership is available and functioning, it isn't necessary to visit, view or add links to the site. Membership is only required for the advanced features.

Currently, DirPort.com is sitting on my site. All entries (new links, new categories, new members) that are approved will be retained when the site is moved to it's own host (still using the DirtPort.com Domain Name).

I appreciate all of your comments, Thank You! -Doug

Looks like it will be good. you will probably get more submissions once your page rank shows up and if its high. Try to set up the linking structure and affiliate links so that each sub page will have page rank as well and people will benefit from being in your directory.

To me the site looked a bit "dull". The colours all seemed to blend in together so none stood out.

I would suggest moving away from the pale blues to perhaps maroons or dark greens if you want to keep the white background and black text.

However, the site functions well, which is more important I suppose.

Submitted a link.

The site looks ok. It could do with a little more... something. I don't know what, but something.

Thanks, orbitsys... Yes, I've been working on the mod rewrite function, talking with the programmer now about it. He's got a new version out now, too. I definitely want to get that done, but for the moment I seem to be missing passing a variable.

Thanks, WorkInProgress. That style preference is just one of the neat features of the script.

By the way, your site looks much improved! Quite a difference, now. I really am impressed.

I agee with you 100%, Brufton. I actually have been going nuts because my studio computer is dead. This was about the only thing I can do until I get a new motherboard. My wife's PC and my (486) laptop aren't capable of running adobe or MX software. But, I picked up some free graphics software that might run on her PC, so a header and a logo will be the next thing I do after I wake up (been up all night).

Interesting idea. I like the maroon color idea. I'll have to see how things pan out. I actually had a light blue brushed aluminum header in mind, but that's only for one style. I'll probably have to make a maroon styled theme as well.

For the moment. I'll post an update once I have at least some graphics done.

Thank you all for your comments, and your links.

Take Care! -Doug
