(The flash menu doesn't work in Firefox for some reason. It works fine in FF when I load it on my end, but not when its on the webserver)

-I'm not willing to make any changes to the flash so I need to make my page work with the blue area on the flash menu.

-I'm mostly concerned with the plain background

Any ideas on how I can spice up any part of this page? Especially the background, but if you have any suggestions for the content window, or items inside the content window, I'd love to hear them.

I am not a big designer myself. Usually get inspirations first and need to know what the site is about before I can start on anything. But first I usually go to behr.com to use their color matching tool to have an idea how the colors will look. and then one of my recent favorites these days is http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2006...signs-in-2006/ they have very nice websites out there.. also, look at some competition sites and see how they designed their site and especially if they are ahead of the game, it might also mean that the design, layout, content might be working for them...

Hi,
I had the same problem too.But I feel that I improved my color skills after I attended oil painting class. (I am not suggesting you to join hehe..don't get the wrong idea) I think it would be more advisable for you to draft it out in pencil and paper first before u start doing.. Personally I would do everything in photoshop first then create the layout in dreamweaver. This way, I can obtain the measurement of the tables and color better.

Thanks guys, I'm going to keep that background solid blue. I moved the banner and menu closer to the center so it looks better.
