I recently added the link "Houston Lawyer's Blog" to the site. Once I am done filling in the content and fixing title tags and stuff, I figured it would be good for SEO to have a blog.
My questions are: What do you guys think of my just putting a site wide link to the blog like I have on the index page. Do you think that users will be confused when it takes them to a slightly different looking site that is under the same domain? Will they be easily able to navigate back to the main site?
Or
Instead of the Houston Lawyer's Blog link pointing directly to the blog, would it be better to take the user to like a landing page that explains what the blog is for?
The problems I am encountering are how the user will be able to return to the site and whether or not I should post articles to the index site or to the blog. Currently the plan is to post articles to the main site and simply comment and link to the articles through the blog.
Would it be a better idea to just create an entirely new domain and just link the two sites together? My main objective is driving traffic to http://www.HoustonLawyersDirect.com, the blog is just intended to help facilitate that.
Any advice on my SEO/Usability conundrum?
