I agree with most things said here. I'm not crazy about the orange/black combo but it works. You might want to pick up a 3rd colour just to make the overall appearance a little softer and less contrating. I find the widget loads without a problem now that you've made the changes. Nice concept overall as I'm a huge footy fan.

I have not put links to top goal scorers and assists, on the right hand side, to make it load faster.

Will this help to get those pages indexed??

Ok, so i want peoples advice on one part of my site?

That background color is currently Grey with Black Writing and Orange Links.

What do you think i should change this to, or shall i keep it the same!
