This site is about 3 months old and we still have a lot of work to do to it but I would certainly appreciate a looky-see, especially by a few of the moderators, to give me some pointers on how to improve the rankability of the site (that sounded rank didn't it...?)

http://www.trycostarica.com

Those who provide the most constructive comments have free beer waiting for them in Costa Rica... (just need to get here).

Pros:
1. I like the layout, i think it works well.
2. Well chosen colors, not to straining.

Things to consider:
1. There seems to be a few div problems in IE6
2. I would change the font size so its not a fixed pixel size. In IE you can only change the size of the headings. The paragraph text is to small for comfort (for me anyways)
3. I would add padding to the pictures in the content area (i think it would give it a cleaner look)

Hope that helps.

Nice lay out! The problem is text alignment.

I like it a lot. The colors are perfect for the theme. I would make a couple suggestions, but honestly nothing huge.

I would try two things and see how they look:

1. The color of the font on the right nav bar: The dark green matches the theme but it blends in and doesn't stick out. I'd experement with a color that sticks out more and see how it looks, maybe a white, yellow or orange like the pic on top. It might look better or make your links "pop" more.

2. I alway like to read about "what your all about" first. So I may move the second paragraph up to the very top. This way the first thing you do is tell people what you are and why your here.

Good luck, I am dying to go to Costa Rica, Do I get a beer?

A couple other things on rankability....
-You have some of your meta tags repeated twice when I viewed your source, this may get you penalized.
- Some of your keywords are too broad ie. hotel, travel. You do not want to compete in these categories, they are to competitive and too many. Try narrowing them a bit. 10-15 in the meta tag. Focus on Costa rica specific ones. Eco-travel is a good one if people are searching it. Costa rica vacations is good maybe try Costa rica hotels too. It's useless to try to compete with people on a word like luxury or hotels, the big guys got those covered.

good luck

I love your header!
Its a shame (like always) that theres loads of adsense...it seems to overwhelm it a little... The horizonal one looks fine but a think it would look neater with out the vertical one...its would then give you a lot more content width...
Also before i forget, opera's text wrapping is a little close for confort (see attachment)

Good luck.

It's a nice looking site, I'd stick around and read info on it... it's a bit tall but loaded quickly on my cable connection. The ads fit in nicely but still caught my eye.

I really like it. Excellent work. I think you should take comments about the text sizing to heart.

I really like it. Great job.

AdSense is kind of a regrettable necessity...

urls of your "sitemap" style footer links are not particularly seo-friendly..
add a DTD.

I agree with the comments above. The only thing I might suggest is splitting up the content on the home page, maybe make them seperate pages and have a well-organized menu or something. There was so much text on the first page it didn't really make me want to start read it. Otherwise, great.

Cool design. Id say switch the google ads with the navigation bar.
