I need some suggestions for color schemes/logo for this site Any help at all would be great as I can't seem to get it to look "right".

it looks a little plain to me, and i dont understand what the state, if that is a state, in the logo has to do with anything

I think I would try a couple of different things. I would not abrieviate WV in the logo, the font is compatable with the nature of your business, it feels like the stencils on a packing crate, I would try an industrial (Darker) color. I would also try some images of various types in the masthead, business related or not it would be a little more appealing... Try a couple of patriotic themes, just not over the top I would loose the title at the top, let your masthead do the job.

I like the red white and blue, the red is a little stark though, you may want to flip the colors around, make the red, blue and visa versa. I would also add a subtle background image to the page(not the table) it will reduce the snow blindness on larger monitors.

BTW the site works well. Good luck with it.
My 2 cents

Yeah, something seems a little off with the main page. I think, like Skip said, adding a subtle background image could get rid of all that "white void". Or maybe even using a color, like a dark gray or something like that. Don't know if that will work for sure, but at least worth a try.

coulor scheme, id keep surfing till some thing catches your eye then copy that (saves your brain power) some thing i just spoted, when you are perousing an item it would be nice to have a next/previouse item button, so you dont have to go back to the main menue,
also i think you have enough space under your discription to put a larger photo (i hate the effort of haveing to enlarge photos)

reviews - "there are no reviews at this time" is a bit frustraiting, id make the link de activated and "there are no reviews at this time" pop up on a mouse over

These are some great ideas. I've made changes to the colors and enlarged the pic on the index page. I'm going to see about adding that next/previous button, I think that would be a good addition. Also I'll try to optimize the images and just have the large image instead of the thumb with click to enlarge link. I'd like to make all the backgrounds on the images the color of the background but I have over 2,000 pics and don't want to do them 1 at a time. I have photoshop and I'll check to see if I can automate this. Thanks for the ideas.

try investing in or downloading a color wheel like colour wheel pro
http://www.color-wheel-pro.com/

or colour impact

then have a look.

but as an idea - since your logo is red white & blue why not stick with that - & get away from boring grey & navy. nice crisp reds & blues would bring out your logo & are nice patriotic colours (dare i say) for a shopping site. Its no accident they are used by banks & investment companies - psychology!

so maybe a very pale blue as background & even paler in the boxes in the table with maybe smart red as outline round some boxes as well as your navy.

but definately download trials of colour programs & have a play about.

good luck

I think the logo could do with some work mabey make the shape bigger fade it out a bit and put the text on top of it.

mabey tru colouring you side box's, nothing too harsh some faded colours??

Try the background image but i think it will be very hard to get a decent image that doesn't lok stupid or become to destracting, mabey use some shapes faded out the break up the white, go to http://bitsmedia.net/contact(If you try it today 26th April it wont work, I am doing some work on th site, should be finnished by tonight) to see what I mean.

Looking only at the colors:

I would first eliminate the orange background. I recommend using white. White is the standard online. The orange is clashing with the blue and looks unprofessional.

For that matter, I would also eliminate the blue background. Background colors for the entire page are not necessary, and make matching everything else a lot tougher.

My rating: 3/10

Theirs not much consitency you are using multiple font, tons of different colors, try reducing the amount of colors and maybe fins someones else color scheme you like and copy it.

Plus those photo would look a lot better on a white background you can still see where you tried to cut them out. Think I agree with the complete redesign, sorry

2/10

lets just concentrate on the colours first shall we - since that is what you asked. I do agree with the comments about fonts etc but we can get onto that later & perhaps nixies "

is a bit harsh.

However a good point is to look at other sites & think about colours. Its better to have the darker colour outside and a lighter colour (white is still the best) inside. It will show up your graphics etc better. I liked the red white & blue logo you had before. Seriously think about downloading colour wheel pro (link to it on my personal website somehere under links if you search)

but blue, yellow & gray clash a bit. the colour wheel wills how you complimentary colour schemes or tri-colour schemes or even blends of colours - its worth it really as colour is pretty important.

keep at it though - you will wake up one morning having had a flash of inspiration and it will be great ! he he

I redid the colors and changed the logo. See what you think.
Tonya, I downloaded color impact as you suggested and, according to it, the colors I have now are compatible. BTW, the reason I'm having such a problem with the colors is I have color vision problems I can see colors but I distinguish them differently than most people.

Wow

what a change !! Thats so much better ! Are you pleased ? you should be. I like it. The blue & yellow work well & the various yellows in the boxes compliment well.

pat on the back. Colour problems like dyslexia is a very common thing but hey - the colour wheel obviously helped !!

Good job ! I like the new logo & it looks like you have addressed fonts too. Keep up the good work ! Hope the encouragment and help was useful !

Thanks Tonya. I am pleased. Everyones comments helped and the color wheel was an indispensable aid. One thing though, my flash of insight came as I was going to bed instead of waking up

take "Welcome to the world of drop shipping!" off the top and put it in the header. when you finally pick colors, be sure to correctly alias all your images. halos and non-aliased steps bother me and don't look professional.

the white and yellow would work better if the logo witht he arrows was bigger. i dont' think the colors are bad, but you need to work with how they lay out and interact. more color within the actual main cell. take half the stuff you got in the left column and put them on the right--but modify the little boxes they're in so they look different than the ones on the right. maybe take them out of the boxes completeley. leave it rather open, but still a column.
