I have changed the template my site plugs into. Not all pages are changed but a review so far would be great.

This site is my playground. Its sort of a homesite plus place to test and try out new development ideas and projects often requested by customers. I mainly work within business development teams or end up just doing background code not design things.

Pink !!! I know I know. Not actually my favourite color but something of a trademark for my sites now so ......

Tested in IE6 56k modem 800x600. Loads nice and fast. Skip intro link seems slow to react. Slightly too wide for 800x600. Menu rollovers a little slow to load - have to hover for a few seconds before they load - needs caching with a bit of javascript. Otherwise, a very nice design. Good luck with it.

Hi Tonya, like the site, like nickc said, it loads quickly which is always a good factor on a site.

I'd suggest you add some sort of graphic at the top of the page which stands out a bit more than the comic sans 'Just Me'. Something to really catch the attention of the viewer and give your page some extra character. I'd probably move the nav to the top of the page too, so it's easier to spot out.

You could probably add a table in the centre where your content goes, which might improve the look of the site, I personally think it'd make a big difference.

Apart from that, I have no problems with it, the overall site is great, it loads fast and the colours are eye catching and effectively used. Good work.

It's a nice site but seems a bit cluttered to me. I suggest you use imaginary lines (table like) to clean up the look. Good info and color scheme.

I like the mumbo jumbo down the left side of the page. Very hard to read unless you highlight the text. I like the way you are testing that layer position. Interesting Idea

I agree with the above, this site loads very quickly. Good work there. You work in the flash, while keeping the site manageable.

I do not really like the pinkish background that you have, but that is sort of the theme you have going. Maybe try just making that white or a lighter shade of pink. The main problem I have with the pink is around your Google logo it shows the white around the edges.

I also agree with Webmaster-RT, it does look very cluttered. There is just alot of stuff packed into a small space. Maybe move some stuff around or something. It does look rough right now.

Last thing, center the picture of you in the right column. Since there is nothing that defines the columns, you need to align everything up. Everything else in that column is aligned, finish it off.

nice site for a personal page ... I think flash intros are overdone and a bit passe ... but it is a personal site and a place to play with ideas ... the horizontal scrolling is a pain and really cuts up your right side content ... the layout is a bit choppy ... and you are right ... the similarity is pretty obvious ... and that site has a bit too much of the "my home page" feel for a business site to me ... your b & b site is crisp and clean though ... much more the look and feel I expected on the bits site and your "me" site as well ... I understand a play / testbed site ... but you can do better , the skills are there 7 / 10

Quite nice for a personal site. The navigation bar though looks a bit out of the planet and does not match with the color and look of the site. Picture and page navigation is ok. And you can definetly do something about that "lovely background" color....

Gee yes site is getting pretty dated now but wanted a review so i had a direction.

check out new marine biology pages & let me know if this is better style. am thinking of moving in that direction. with whole layout. stick to pink - kind of a trademark now but have inside of main content table background white or that flower. get rid of now very old flash in comic sans - glad its fast though. journal book is all new as is gallery section & marine bit.

but thanks a lot. when you live with something for so long its hard to know whats right & wrong & come up with new direction but have been just trying to get time & motivation & some feedback for idea of direction to move in.

For a personal site it's great. personally these are my grips, they don't really stand because you said it was a test place but hay.

Flash intro I think are a big no no and the google search kinda overlaps thethe text sometimes.

This is a personal playground. I dont sell anything, require promotion or have anything I expect the world at large to read and review on a regular basis. Its fun & development and since I spend most of my work time on the code development for the backend database side the fluffy stuff is nice to get some remarks on. The content is purely a by product of the development though sometimes people use my links section & read my fun pages.

Thinking of a revamp & wanting to work on one or two particular things prompted the review - they were the journal & the fun background. I got responses & had a laugh with the journal book as an idea.

As for google overlap. Where? & what browser are you using. I can only see it overlap on my admin section login page which is hidden away in a link not in the main navigation links anyway. if its somewhere else then please let me know where?

The flash intro was done a few years ago while doing some flash for a customer and is meant to let random viewers know thats its a personal site - a sort of welcome & come in & look but this isnt meant to be anything other than a personal site.

But hey thanks for commenting anyway.

I find it hard to understand nixies78's grading sceme. he has givin this site 4/10 yet otheres that are not even finished and only comprise of two or three pages with broken links on 5/10.

I think he should go back and see what he has written so far.

I changed the text at top of my site review because i have actually now got around to changing the style so it fits in better with my marine section. (still mostly under construction)

not all pages are plugged into new template but would love feedback on new look. I stuck with the pink - sorry for those who hate it as I said before its something of a trademark now !!

you should try and put like a pretty border color around those two bottom pictures. like border 5 or something. might look pretty. some light purple color like your signature name.
