Have seen so many SEO topic, web directory success stories on the internet.

Don't know if it is stupid idea, wasting time or something. I would like to create a broadcast network for people to list, share and broadcast their web pages.

The idea is to list the pages and put a little script on their web pages. They invite friends to join and exchanges pages links. It will automatically show the links on their own web pages.

Heard a lot of terms like "Links Generator", "Banner exchange" ... Am I too stupid to start one like those?

From the SEO stand point, do you think the site sucks?

Here is the link. www.findmypages.com

Thanks!

WELL. That sounds bad!

TravelAgent. I know you care so much about validated code. I know my site is not even close to 90% accuracy. That is not what I am asking for.

I hope someone can tell me that. Nuh. Your idea is great or your site sucks.

I would love to hear the reasons. Not just because "It sucks".

I don't mind to hear negative comment. That's what I am here for. Learn what people are doing and listen what people are saying.

Thanks!

This is a great forum. I should come here earlier.

I like the site for simplicity. A few suggestions:
- Image quality arent that great. you may consider putting cleaner images.
- texts doesnt have any padding in most cases. give them some space to breathe. that will make things look neater.
- I actually added my site on yours. the image size says 120X90 I did upload same size image but it was pixelleted. then i changed the image for 99x74 it was ok then.

Now that I've taken longer to look at your site, it's a good way to advertise; only thing I don't like is the fact you force people to provide a link back on their site(s) to be published.

You have alot of code warnings (484) of which I won't list, but the majority are where you're using XHTML as your Doctype Declaration and at the end of each image tag, you haven't placed this -- < /> -- this is for validation; and the next warning item is you have alot of propietary code that is "&whateverid" ... hopefully, you have the option of doing a "find / replace" in your HTML Editor, and replace all of them with this (in bold) -- "&whateverid".

Thank you for signing up!

To answer your questions.
1. I was using 120x90 and decide to down size to 90x75, because it takes too much space. I have not changed the instruction in the other pages.
2. Yeah! It's not very clean, since I have many text in the page.
3. Trying to make image size smaller. Need to re-do some graphics.

Trying to create a web site that everyone can share links like old days with banner exchange or link exchange. Now, I guess most web site just want to get list on other's and don't want to contribute a little space on their own site.

I don't know about anyone else, I tried to list my site on other popular web directory. Once I list it, I can't find it within two clicks from the home page. It is berried so deep in the directory, which can never be found by search engine. I have been turned down by so many PR 6-7 web directories, which make me think about what I can do to help others.

I may be too naive and believe that people are willing to share their pages. I do try charge $ for extra pages, that's keep me motivated. :-) I guess everyone wants to make some $$ for something. Aren't u?

Thank you all for giving me comments.

TravelAgent. Now we are talking. First, thank you for review my site.

Isn't sharing the nice things in the old days? I really don't know if you can or are willing to answer this question for me.

What can a new web site do to get traffic without put up ads and asking reciprocal links from others? Let's assume the site is already SEOed.

I did validate my site on w3.org. I am shocked, honestly. Since it's a beta site, I don't know how long it will last. So just get this site up and see if the idea works.

Can you explain what do you mean to convert & -> "&whateverid". Do you mean every & in the query string? Is that something causing SE or Lynx to unable to read the link? From the programming side, I don't know it will cause problems, unless there is something I need to learn from.

I really appreciate what you have contribute to the forum, it's nice to have someone like you here. So we all learn something from others.
