Hi,

I have redesigned my site so many times, you know what its like when designing your own site, your never quite satisfied with it. And I like to redesign once in a while, try out new skills, optimise parts of it etc..

So anyways, would like to know what you think ? like or dislike ? any problems encountered ?

www.benshu.ch

thanks

Good work, man!
I like your site, and the other from your portfolio too. Clean, minimalistic but not cold. Just great!
Only thing is... I miss the German version if we're at Switzerland
Good luck!

thanks I like to keep things simple but attractive.

regarding the German Version, I have thought about that, but I do not speak German (from French part and Never really lived in my home country, so never had to learn German really ). If I did decide to have a German part, would have to get a Translation done, so would cost, and people would think I can answer back in German to their questions

maybe sometime, but not for right away.

I like what you have done here. The design is clean and easy on the eye.
You have a small problem on your Home page:-
When viewing in IE7. I viewed the English version of your site and noticed that when hovering over the Francais link the background appeared not only behind the link but also to the right and slightly above. This doesn't appear on your portfolio page nor does it in Firefox.
Other than this a good effort.

thanks, I never realised about that before lol. Will have to look into that, weird that its only on homepage , probably need to check about IE7 interpreting px differently, or something of the sort

should have that fixed soon.

It would be better if the splash page was just a screen- so you can't scroll down/up.
Everything else is pretty good.

i dont' think it's worth posting "personal websites" b/c they are just the old and outdated variations for your current site. the professional sites speak very clearly for themselves.

thanks for comments.

for splash page, what resolution makes it vertically scroll ?

for "personal websites" - good point, will think about it, but I find its nice to see how my skills have changed, and also some of the past designs are still nice, show various other types of skills, layouts I can do. Maybe I should simply not show the very early designs which are really the "beginners" stuff

Looks really good. Nice and clean. Lots of information. good navigation. The only thing I don't like is the background. I think it makes your site look a little dated. If I were you I would experiment with someother backgrounds.
Also It would be better to preload (using Javascript) the rollover navigation images on the page, as when you first go over them they flicker.
If you empty your browser catch, then reload the page, you'll know what i mean.

thanks

for the image preloading, could use javascript indeed, but then not everyone has it enabled, so wouldnt change for everyone The little flickr isnt too bad, and it depends on connection speed, most people today have a fast enough connection so should be ok for the majority

Yes you have fixed IE7 problem.
You ask at what resolution the splash page scrolls, I use 1024 x768 and your page scrolls at this resolution.

Great site. Great colors. Easy to the eye.

I'm using IE7 and experienced a little lag while scrolling, maybe it's my PC but i doubt so.

In your portfolio section, I don't like the underline under the arrow buttons. I think the arrow buttons shoud be hidden if it is unclickable

Higher quality images on the front page. (maybe split the image up into two?)

Otherwise, I like how everything is organized. And I like the layout.
