Wow ! That is a huge resolution... My fear is, if I make the image too big it would take to long to load. ahhh yet another obstacle in my design !

Any suggestions? no-repeat? or larger image? Maybe I should split the header up with a left and right site. The left would be stationary with no repeat, the right would be a smaller image the repeats for those larger resolutions?

Thanks

edit: Ok ... I split the Polaroids from the background and put it in it's own <div> tag and put the text in its own <div> as well. This should make it viewable from huge resolutions without anything overlapping the repeated image. sheessh ! that took a while to figure out. The beauty of this is it allowed me to cut the background image size by half!

Now the issue still stands at lower resolutions and overlapping. hmmmm...

This has been quite challenging for me as I am used to tables lol!

Thanks again for all of the input. keep it coming please!

Through usability studies they're saying you should encourage people to click external links from your site to not open in a new window?
That is correct, do not open new windows. The old 'keep people on my site' logic doesn't hold up .. people don't like new windows for the most part.

The target=_parent simply isn't necessary if the links are all internal to your site.

I may click several links on that site taking me deep into the sponsored add that would require several back button clicks to get back to the site
Like I said, people know how to use their back button no matter how deep they go. Again, how YOU surf should not be a factor in how you design a site for USERS.

You might try some reading on Web usability here: http://www.webcredible.co.uk/user-friendly-resources/

wow ... That's good to know. I guess I had it backwards. Old habits die hard I guess. The USERS are definitely the target demo...

Yes, they are. I don't surf the way you do, or, for that matter, like most users, but I'm a tech geek, so I use different methods . I've watched my sister while she's on the web.. drives me nuts to watch how she does things 'the hard way'.. lol. She's pretty much a 'typical user' though.
