The first thing I would do is make your header much smaller. That takes up very valuable space on your home page. Secondly, the columns in the table you have set up are spaced a little funny. The first one especially, it has about a 2 inch gap below the text before it starts the new row. Try to remove that, and it will move everything up a lot. Last thing is I recommend before you make your site live, have content to put in your other links. Don't just leave them under construction while live. That really can hurt the reputation of a website. Good start though, I would like to see it when it is finished.

design is not too bad, but the hader is garbage!!! RED - is a really bad color. But when you mix it with black - its even worse.

Try keepeng design the same, but instead of header you have right now make a logo. it will look much better

More importantly than the obvious bad design is the fact that you're running a business page, soon to be selling products, from free web space. Who is going to buy from you if they feel you can't even afford a real domain and web hosting?

Aww! Its not that bad!

The header is too big, yes, but I wouldn't say its 'garbage'! I'd say its quite good and perfectly suitable for the site.

You have a good blend of text and eyecandy. Many sites concentrate too much on making the design stand out more than the content, and this is 'nicht gut'. With your site, I find the text inviting to read, and I read the whole page without feeling at all bored. And I very rarely would read a whole page of text like that.

If you are planning to become America's #1 supplier of paintballs, then you really need a domain name. This is not at all difficult nor expensive - I set up a website for $10 with budget hosting and domain registration.

So overall, well done. For a first site, its very good. Plenty of points for improvement have been mentioned above.

Regards

I think your choice of colors on the header is fine despite what others have said; but it is way too large. Also I would suggest setting your top margin to 0 and bring it all the way to the top of the page rather than have the space between the header and the browser.

Why is the table cell around the first picture a darker color than the table cells around the other two picutres?

I would also recommend using a font other than times new roman, at least for your navigational menu. times new roman has a clunky look to it suitable for text, but not really suitable for navigation.

hey wacko3 thanks alot for the props. Im glad you managed to read the full content, that was the plain.

the reason for the odd one color in one of the cells is just pure art deco ,innit.

anyways let me know what you guys think

the blue gradient is too delicate for the site and should be red IMO. The layout is non-standard, and that's good. On my resolution (800*600) some of the text on the left overlaps with the big picture and it is black against black = unreadable.

Good job again

Hey not bad for the first site...

I personally would change the font, verdana, arial... something that's easy to read but not times!! The images aren't too bad... but i have no idea what the ones next to the link menu are for... they just kinda float there in space... even if you meant to use them as links, they just kinda don't fit... also the table should be in px and not percent...

Again, not bad for first site... Good luck!!

I like the site. Colors are ok, but the text in black on the left runs into the picture and, you cant read what is over the picture. I'm looking at it in 1024 X 768.

Just try.
Move the background image to the right make it smaller.
Header on the top left
Text properly aligned in the white space that you will get.
Change the font to verdana. (or if you want a classy look try old typewriter for the text)
This were just suggestions. I think the current concept is good but youll have to brush-up a bit.

That's the danger of using 'the default font'. When the webmaster doesn't set a font, the visitor's web browser uses its default font, which you can set. I have my default web font set to Arial, but the default 'default font' is Times. So, you see the site in Times, and I see the site in Arial. Arial is bigger than Times, so for me the text overlaps the picture, but for you it probably doesn't.

Solution: set a specific font. Have a look into using a css stylesheet (that'd be the easiest way to set the font(s) for the site.)

I dunno, the picture is okay but it overlaps the text and the page links are not working for me?
