This site is nowhere near complete - only the front page is up, the navigation isn't.

I don't want to continue work until I get some input - some say the black text on the main section of the page is too hard to read. I am curious as to how I could fix this, because I can't seem to find a color that would work well there.

Suggestions, please?

I like what you have done so far. The black isn't that hard to read. I really don't know what other color would look good.

There are some definite color mixes that don't make for easy reading and the top one is probably red on black. That's hard to read.

You site is not that hard to read. It's a little harder with the black in the darker shade of green, but not to the point of being bad. One possible way of making the text a little easier to read is to try some shades of gray.

For that matter, the lighter shade may do well for the text as you've used it for highlighting.

I like it, however, I don't think it looks very much like a web site for a business. It looks more like a personal site or a blog type of deal.

Interesting color scheme. Personally I've would use light colors, but yours are OK. Well done, simple and clear. Good luck!
