have a look at the site in netscape 800x600
there are wide margins on left and right sides.
that makes the site too big for the screen
the menu is in a disorder
the links at the bottom and the links need to be of dark color

Thanks for the response!
it's 2006, get a bigger screen, man LOL

the disorder is an artistic touch and meant to be non-traditional

i slightly agree on the need for darker links at the bottom, but would rather keep them be subtle so that people are drawn to the pink area.

That may be true, but many people STILL use 800x600 resolutions and even those with wider screens and higher res will not always browse with the browser at full screen. Forcing side-scrolling is just not recommended.

You want a real review ? Here goes:

- The non-tiling background looks bad.

- The menu, that magenta box on the side, is not obvious as navigation, it looks garbled and out of whack, more like 'mystery meat' navigation. The Text runs out of the box, looks bad This might be your idea of 'edgy' but it doesn't work.. and the color simply doesn't fit with the rest of your color scheme.

- The content text is a bit small. Not everyone who surfs is 15 with perfect vision. You're specifying your fonts in PX, which handcuffs IE users because they cannot scale the text it they want to make it bigger and more readable. Better to use em or %.

- It's all tables... bleaaah.. definitely not cutting edge web design.
- It doesn't validate, you have not specified alt text for any of your images, whcih is bad for accessibility - as is your image map for navigation. If you're going to use images for navigation, at least provide a TEXT ONLY alternative.

The design, other than that hideous pink box, is nice, but you have some issues IMO.

I like your information about your company. My only suggestion as a consumer at this time is to lighten the pictures some what---hard to see very dark (however the night setting is perfect for your ad--maybe a street light on) also I would change your links to make them more visible--the light grey is difficult to see as a consumer I personally like things to jump out at me I do not want to have to search for them. I am not a patient person and would get irrritated and leave the site

Overall I think your designs OK but I'm going to have to agree with some of the other people posting. The background would look alot better and the 'non traditional' navigation is confusing and I wouldnt be suprised if potential clients are thrown off by it and think its not displaying correctly. That wont do you any favours.

Other then that its nice and clean.

It's looking good. It's abvious that a professional designer worked on it. So I wish you a good luck.

Absolutely no hate here Just giving you an honest critique of the overall. What you SEE is cosmetic, but if you think the underlying code makes no difference, you are mistaken.

The 2nd design is ok, certainly cleaner w/o the heavy background.
I still have to say that using images to replace text and navigation is a bad idea. It's completely inacessible to anyone who might need assistive technology.

The sideways navigation looks nice on a design, but it is still difficult to read.

The site is looking better howerver I think the writing needs to be larger to make it easier to read. I also think the links need to be a different color. As a consumer I feel like I have been given information only and no where to follow up if I decide to use it

that second site is just a jpeg; a rough at that. i think i slapped an image map on it for ****z n giggles. I would NEVER use img text for the bulk copy on any site.

Agreed, either a different color, or like the pink site, they would change color when you mouse over.

thanks for the input, everyone!

2%!! coding errors also

(not all bad ) the header is attractive and draws your attention to the page.

The links in the pink box ruin it a bit - but like the header and with a bit of work could look really good!
