Right, I'll try to cut a long story short.
I found paint on my computer.
I wondered what all the toolbar icons did.
I found out.
I took a screenshot of Google and modified it to a parody, with the name "gloogle".
A few years later I stuck a Microsoft Publisher website on Bravenet with 2 images.
Then I found out about HTML.
I redid the site.
I implemented it into a proper search engine parody, using the name gloog, because it was shorter, and less like "google"; 'gloog' has only one syllable compared to Google's two.
I took the search down site down because I decided an actual "GLoog" search
was too close to Google.
I made another image site and found a free host without adverts.
I made another site still using the logo, but for no point.
I made a template site with a jellybaby/crap logo.
I made this site.
It looked boring.
I looked into the backup of the images folder for a site from a few years ago.
I picked the most colourful image I could find which matched the dimensions I was looking for.
I still kept the name Gloog for the site because it's in the domain.
Gloog has travelled from gloog.bravehost.com
It seemed to do the job nicely.
It has been demoted back to the archives now, because some people think I look like I'm copying Google (which might have been the case......3 years ago)
Here's an image similar to the original parody [made early last year because I couldn't find the original]. Note that it is gloog and not gloogle. It was after the transition.:

Now
that image is similar to google, and in comparison, the location of Gloog in the near past was not very incriminating.
