Hi,
My company has a new project going on: http://www.logopatrol.com, please let me know what you think of the design (we've just started uploading logos).

I know alot of people have different opinions about the way sites should look, here's what we were trying to accomplish:

Basic, simple layout that's easy to navigate.
Main focus should be on the logos for sale
You should feel secure while on the site, like you would feel comfortable purchasing from it.
It should be really easy to use the site and to figure out what it's about.

Thanks,
George

EDIT
======
Please review in IE only for now (safari might be all right to..), as it's pretty messed up in firefox, I need to figure out what the problem is there.... thanx...

you have a massive space in the middle, the search and login should be in the same column as the menu move the news up to the banner

For starters, I like that you are using Joomla! for your CMS. This is a great way to run sites with lots of content and provides almost unlimited tools to maintain a professional site. That being said, this is what I see:

1. There are some big layout problems concerning the header graphic and the underlying content area on the front page. Not sure if you modified the rhuk_solarflare template this appear to be based on, but it will render correctly in all browsers in its default mode. You probably want to revisit the actual code that renders this site.

2. If you are going to use this theme, I would recommend changing the color scheme to something of your own. It is very easy to do and will strengthen your message if your users that know about Joomla! know you took the time use your graphic talents to make the site 'your own' in some way. Dont overdoe it, but just tweak the colors to compliment the nice colors in your logos.

Nice jog getting it up and running so far. Joomla! can be a challenge to simply set up.

breezewell: thanks for all the advice, as soon as I figure out how to change the color scheme I will.... I only started using Joomla! a day or two ago... it just takes a while to figure out which files to edit when you're starting out.... any tips or links to tutorials on customizing templates would be very welcome...

Looks nice... Just like Joomla! There are tons of websites that looks so similar to Joomla!'s page just because they use the same theme. I would recommend to change your theme. If you like this one, at least change the dark buttons and make them blue and yellow like the color of your logo. I would also have only 3 logos in Just Added section. would have less white space on a sides where download and show cart are. Just add button "more" or have different logos appear for every time browser loads. As for your logo, I like it. looks nice. I think you showul do something about search and login... just doesnt look right. may be put them on different sides or put search on top... Plus "advanced search" doesn't look good on top of login. confuses.

I'm Not sure that you did infact fix the firefox problems. Stuff is all over the place still. I am viewing at 1280*800 and you still have the big white gap near the top.

Joomla! can be a real beast to get used to so use the following links to get started. Play around with some different modules and components to see what works best for you. Make sure to back up your database often as you will inevitably break your system at some point. It is part of the learning process.

www.joomlaya.com // great source for add on's
www.netshinesoftware.com // good Quick Start Guide
http://www.mambosolutions.com/dw_tutorial/ // good template tutorial

Good luck with your site

Looks great! Good even design and good product...whatever you're doing, keep doing it. And be sure to check it in Firefox when you make changes.
