There are still a few things i'm trying to learn how to do with the CSS, such as change colors of things, and also modify the navigation at the top so I can add more links (next to the Blog and Register/Site Admin ones). Also the integrated xdforums are going away, i'd like to do some kind of vBulletin or phpBB that I can also merge with other sites of mine somehow, yet still allow them to be separate (same database of users..)

Ok here goes

1) colours : ok i like blue and white clean and simple
2) layout : its too wide for an 800 x 600 screen - think about web visitors with visual special needs who use low screen resolution.
3) special consideration: The w3C have a white paper that talsk about writing web sites that are considerate to people with visual impairments. These include repeating the main menu links at the bottom of the screen in text and having a sitemap that si easy to locate.
4) Navigation: on the subject of links and navigation i dont like the links being on the right hand side of the screen. We read left to right and it feels un-natural to have links listed way over there. Actually because I was looking for a menu bar I missed those links at the first look. I would suggest you create a menu bar at top for main pages then replicate these links at the bottom. Blind readers know to direct their screen reading software to the bottom to look for menu links if they can't locate the links on the screen even in text mode only.

I would prefer to see main content on the right of the screen.

Once I did navigate to links I noticed some more points.

5) White space: eg contact us page. The form is so spread out there is simple too much white space.
6) External hyperlinks. It might be better for you to have external hyperlinks target a blank new window rather than have your visitor leave your site eg the blog, partners and useful links.

google ads on the header looks peculiar.
on a 800x600 screen the right most column is invisible.
the site looks simple and nice.

I think it looks pretty good. You should maybe add a little bit more color though.

Well I like your design becouse you have used wordpress. I used blogger when i was still blogging but I never learnt how to properly use html to improve the template design.
