Entertaining topic seeing horribly designed sites - maybe should be started up in the general forum...

One thing I have noticed about a lot of these sites is that most of them have a google page rank of 4 or higher. If that isn't a reason to completely discount the value of google PR then I don't know what is.

I think there are so many ppl making fun of these sites, that they are posting links to them everywhere on the net.

I'm sorry, I first noticed I was getting alot of traffic from this site so I decided to come find out why. Then I saw the original message, and that it was left by someone who gave me praise on another forum. I came back here periodically to see what else was being said. I'm sorry, but it is my strong opinion that it is rude to talk poorly about someones efforts when you don't understand the circumstances to those efforts. Now when I first made this site, it was just so I could learn HTML, that was 4 weeks ago, then I learned CSS, which is why it has changed. I also am learning PHP/MySql. Now, maybe you don't think that it's impressive, and that's fine, but in my own defence, 4 weeks ago I was swinging a hammer and knew nothing about the internet except how to surf. So if you wouldn't mind, please, if you must give feedback on any site, be constructive and act as though you are giving feedback for the person who created it, because they are going to notice the extra traffic and come find out why. Also, sentimental, I am a forgiving person, and I appreciate your apology, but I am not forgetful.

ouch. that's painful. honestly, i feel pretty bad now. If a website sucks, it probably because someone is just learning and doesn't know yet how to do everything properly.
sorry, bud.

Actually, my first website attempt sucked very bad - but if we never attempt, we never learn!

Is the site a joke? Reading the information is quiet funny. "I remember the first time I saw her..*sighs*...." Uh yea. Great stuff.

Yeah, that site is terrible. They need to add something to grasp the eye's attention. Look at this site... http://thenamegame.brinkster.net/ <-- it has alot of color, but I'm still working a few bugs out. I like to add attention through colors though!

Be careful. There is a fine line between grabing a visitor's attention and sending that visitor running for the hills scratching his eyes out ....If you look back through this post you will see what I mean.

What are you talking about? It doesn't say anything like that on my site. And no, it's not a joke, if you would kindly read the entire thread before you post, especially when you go and say something that is rude and uncalled for. The website is making me money, and brings in 80 unique visitors daily. I am not ashamed of that, I hold my efforsts in high regard, because as I have said, I am new to design, and comments like yours aren't helpful, and are designed to be malicious. It's comments like that that are not needed anywhere, please refrain from comments such as this. PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD, this is the kind of publicity I don't need.

If you want it to die, just leave it alone and it will die a slow death naturally if you stop posting to it. IMO
