Hi,
Just finished my MySpace clone site - My-Arena.com .
Would like your opinion on it and the design and would also want to ask what features your think are important to add to it?
Also - what's the best way you think to promote it?

Positive repuatation is promised to all useful comments!

the design is nice, although if i wanted to join a site that was like myspace, myspace.com would be my first port of call, something to think about?

looks good.
under "currently online" you may also display the number of guests online too.
at present it seems to display only the number of members online.
in the logo animated image is not that clear.

Your site is missing 40 million users, thats the edge that myspace has. It was there first.

I realllllllllly like the design. Thumbs up on that.

It's really hard to start something that has so many people on it. Kinda like starting a new version of ebay.

I think you would have an easier time developing a myspace that was targeted toward a specific niche audience. This way you can be more concentrated commuinity in a sense and can gain avantage there. As to try to take mysace head on i think is something you cant win.

I like the navigation, even though it looks like a white version of Apples navigation.. =)

You should remove remove the devil in the logo, it's not realted to your site.
Don't know Myspace well, but you should not go with with the messy layout i've seen there.

I agree - heads on with MySpace is probably not a bright idea...

Any idea of what niche I can customize it towards?
Maybe just dump the whole thing and make it into an arcade?

You might try something that compliments my sapce, somethign people can add to their profiles. There are lots of scripts out there that do similar stuff, you can take a look at them and see if you can come up with something original. If you do, it will sweep myspace like wild fire and give you lots of traffic. Good luck.

You could make it for webmasters. I've seen various forums [mostly filled with way to many "How do I change the text color?" questions] but nothing like that.

Now as for the site itself. The devil doesn't have to go completly. If you have him be a mascot and make your own he'd be fine. It could be like Linux's penguin.

I really like the navigation. But I'd go for a better banner above it. All the white..., I don't like white. Not even on Google.

I would try to advertise it on myspace acounts as an alternative for some who arnt totally happy with myspace.

Well thank you both. I'm afraid I'm out of green stuff as the system will not allow me to give any more but you definatly should get some.

As for the red devil - it's a royalty free gif (although you're right - freeBSD has a similar logo).

I'm at the point in which I'm planning of changing the site to an online gaming arena instead of what it currently is.

A game site would be cool too.
Find the most addicting games you can and you'll have no problem.

Thanks - I caved in and changed the site to an Arcade.
It's now a huge an cool online Arcade with more then 2000 games on it.
