Redesign

Hi All,

I'm new to web design and working on improving my current web design site.

I would appreciate any feed back to my current work in progress, the redesign of my Prophecy Web Design site.

I designed it in hopes that a simple layout with one powerful effect would create enough visual interest to hold my users attention.

Please check out my one powerful effect (the day to night css style switch) and comment on the pros and cons.

OK - the site took much too long to load. I would have left if the site if I hadn't been reviewing it. The main logo seemed to be the culprit and is actually much too large for the screen anyway. The main screen layout, while clear, doesn't look professional enough for someone selling web design services. The night style appealed to me more but again doesn't befit a web design service and the choice of two styles seemed more gimmicky than purposeful. I actually think the colour scheme is quite pleasant and easy on the eyes but perhaps a different colour here and there might spice it up a little and catch the eye of prospective customers. I also felt the navigation bar was a little distracting by retaining the current page in the same colour as the over-state for the new links and the fact that it 'drags' the colours as you move the mouse up and down the bar.

It's unique and that's good. I would maybe useth font of the title in your banner a little more. It's cool and it degrades it to use the Tahoma or Arial or w/e it is right next to it. Good Job though. I like it.

I actually think its quite good

I don't care for the night style but that's just a personal preference. The side loaded pretty quickly for me, but I'm also on a cable connection. I happen to think the logo size is fine, I've seen bigger. At 1024x768 it doesn't overpower the page at all.

I think the nav with the 'current' page highlight is also ok. I don't have any complaints with it being the same as the hover state, I think that's what most people would expect anyway. It's clean, it's clear, you've got good whitespace and the text is very readable.

The only place I would add some spacing is on the Services page. Give the headings a little more whitespace around them.
