hello everyone,

I'm offering Pay-Per-Action website hosting at http://www.webbudget.ca. An action would be a visit, a contact (lead) or a sale. The website includes a built-in online store and a form contact.

Customer can fix a daily budget. Based on that budget, a specific number of visits, contacts or sales are allowed per day. The higher the budget, the lower a visit/contact/sale will cost. When actions quota is reached, the web site will be locked automatically then unlocked the next day. To immediately unlock the web site without waiting until the next day, customer needs to either temporarily increase the daily budget or disable the automatic lock option.

All of you know that this model (CPA) already exists, but applying it to web hosting, could it interest website owners if they only have to pay 5¢ a visit or $1 a contact, or they rather prefer paying a fixed amount per month?

Any other feedbacks regarding my website design, content, ergonomy, etc. are welcome.

thank you

Hi - it's an interesting concept - but I'm not sure it will fly - though it could be a direction things move in in the future.

People are so used to 'free' websites or of paying a little money for a 'finished' website which they think then needs no further work that I think most would object to the idea of paying for any kind of metered usage - even if based on results.

I think the idea of paying by results is a sound one though - it's just that this particular business model is so far from the usual way of doing things that I doubt you will get much take up.

It's main advantage would seem to be for smaller companies who would not need to foot up-front development costs (if I have understood you correctly). Does the service include 'creating' the new site for the customer (from templates) - or is it just hosting?

Love the design & layout btw - nice and 'airy' - although I get a horizontal scroll bar - even at 1024 x 768.

Graphically, I would get rid of the space between the content and the footer... makes the page unnecessarily long.

i liked the design, it looks corporate and very neat,
only suggestion i have is you can keep a background colour for headings of those blocks, that will give a contrast to this website

I found it hard to figure out from your main page what exactly you were selling but I agree that even with a good description it would be a hard sell.

Do you get a domain name with it or is it like a page on your site? What if someone wants to design their own site?

The problem is that most people build websites to try to get good traffic, if you're trying to build backlinks then everyone you request is going to visit your site so it's going to cost just to get the traffic that is going to cost you more.

But, sorry, you didn't ask for a business concept critique.... the site looks good, loads fast, I like the colours but I think you need some promotional language and a better description of what your're selling on your front page.

And, just for your info... my webhosting costs me $100 cdn per year so $99 usd wouldn't be a bargain for me.
