Ideas & Feedback Please

Hi

Since i joined the forum i've been confined really to just this section, so while i'm here i hope i can get some suggestions and ideas on my site. http://netcode.eu.org

It's a bit of an assortment in terms of content, as originally it started out as mainly a download resource for mIRC scripts, Msn messenger and Msn chat programs, but i also wanted to provide some tutorials and good reference content for people that are new to html, php and general web building, and i'm trying to steer the site more in that direction and slowly fade out the msn and mirc download stuff, even though at the moment it brings alot of traffic.

I'd mainly like some ideas on the layout, because i know it's very plain, but my graphics skills are not very good, and i've spent all my time recently writing the php & html tutorials and adding content, rather than thinking about how it looks.

Enough rambling

any ideas, comments, suggestions are welcome

it is good now.

try to add colors to it.

u need not put lots of graphics to enhance the look of a site..

u can do it with colors also.

Hi Loon,

In general, it looks very organized, although the font is a bit smaller than I would like it to be. But it seems to be the trend these days, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

The site is very informative, but it trails many of the major sites in terms of scripts, tutorials, and general information. Since I hang around a free webhosting community, I can tell that you have quite a few bad or defunct hosts in your list of PHP hosts, from a quick glance. I understand that you are a relatively small site, and what you have done is already excellent.

Your board matches the scheme of your site. Well done.

However, the colors of your site are a bit bland. There's too much black. Perhaps you could use a bit more gray, or even another color!

I recommend that you purchase paid hosting and buy a domain name. This is essential to the further development of your site. If scripts.tripod.com could be as popular as hotscripts.com, why did hotscripts choose to invest all the money into purchasing their own domain and server? You have great potential, and I would harness it!

It's not a free host, and i'm currently waiting for the dns to update on the domain name

As for the hosting lists, i did check through a couple of days ago, but i'll have another look.

I think everybodys main suggestion is colour, it's just a question of how to apply it, but i'll have a think

load pretty fast for me... clean layout, but add in a few more graphic to spice it up

Your site has alot of info but I agree it needs some colors and a touch of graphics!

Other then that I think its good!
you definetly have put time into it!
I would go with conker with the Overall: 7.3
