I am working on revisions to one of my sites currently. I would like to request a review even though this site is still "under construction" - and hopefully get some input for the site content. THe site that I am submitting for review/assistance is a computer related site. And yes more content is on the way.

Logo problems - Currently unable to get a working logo on to the site......I am working on it...May be a dead end endeavor though.

Uncontrolled Format - This site does use frames.. I know, frames are not popular. But have no choice with this site builder.

Any one that has ideas to submit for content, etc. feel free to let me know. www.webnow.com/BCS1

Thanks
Toby

PS
This site is undergoing a name cange......to be completed soon

Hi Toby,

Looks like you're staying busy. Here's some opinions on your new site. Yes, you're right, I personally don't like frames....but you can make 'em work okay.

Speaking of frames, I suggest that you make the navigation buttons shorter in length and try to maintain as few as possible in the left frame. That will keep you from having to scroll in the navigation box. You might want to remove the white bar above the navigation. The top navigation looks good and it might be good to use that so you don't have too much on the left.

I like the colors that you have used. I think you do need a logo and a different style title. That's sometimes really hard to do, or sometimes it's hard to figure how to do it with some site builders.

As for content, you could add a section on some typical repairs on computers (especially those that the owner has done). Another section might be just about Compaqs. And another section, since you offer technical support, could be about home repairs or upgrades that your readers could do.

Hi Dave,
Wow!!! Thanks for the input. Great Ideas. I have started utilizing some of your ideas tonight, more to come shortly. A buddy of mine is supposed to be helping me with site ideas but he has flaked out on me . This is the type of info/ideas that I have been looking for. I have just not thought of them myself.

As far as the frames - non negotiable!!!! even if I move the buttons to the top of the page that huge *** block will still be there. Cannot be shortened or thinned.....

Still accepting ideas if anyone else has any thoughts.

Hey Sawmill!

About the site:

I agree with all of Dave's comments.

As well,

I am not crazy about the "Welcome" font. I would choose somethign a little cleaner looking.

I would remove the scrolling text. Some browsers do not support this. Or if you really want to keep it, move it to the bottom. That way the computer pictures will be aligned with the left navigation bar (from side to side).

You need a space after "Specializing in Compaq computers"

This will help seperate your banners from the text. Or remove the bullet from the first banner so all the banners are aligned the same.

Other than that, the site looks really nice! A nice logo would really improve it also!

I have edited the original post here. I have changed the URL finally!!!

I have done away with the scrolling text. I have changed the style of the site to rid it of the scroll bar next to the nav buttons on the left of the site. I have moved the banners so that they are all aligned. Am still adding content.

Thanks to all
