Here it is... the most controversial site you'll ever review.

I am looking for an objective review of this website. Please review on the basis of quality, even if you don't agree with what is being said.
http://www.smokingpermitted.com
While I do not advocate smoking, neither do I advocate the horrible discrimination against smokers which is commonplace in today's society.

Reverend Mo Money, you are living proof of what I've known for years. Non-smoking is hazardous to your personality. I asked for objective comments on the design of my web site, and what did I get in return? A sermon.

A quick check of the Apache logs, and... yes! You only read the home page. Read this and tell me it's not discrimination.

Did I ever say anywhere on my web site that this is wrong? This is not wrong. I am in FAVOR of it. What is wrong is forcing smokers to walk hundreds and hundreds of feet away from their HOME in order to smoke. That's why the site exists.

You've been duped too. Hundreds of thousands? I thought it was 3,000. Or was it 53,000? No, wait a minute... it's zero.

That's all I asked for. I was polite to you -- why didn't you return the favor.

erik98225,
With a controversial site like that don't be surprised if some either hate it or love it.
Anyway, Your site has quite a bit of content and i did take the time to read some of it. Much of it is quite an interesting read.
I can't say that I agree with everything, but is a good start to a site that could development into one having many loyal supporters and many that total disagree with the ideas.
As for the design, it is to the point and basic. But this may be all you will need for this site. It seems to have a lot of content. I would eventually try for a redesign that is not quite so "boxey."
Nice start and thanks for joining us

I am not surprised. I had to ask about 30 different ISPs before I could find one who would allow it on their servers.

This was my first attempt at putting up a big-time web site. The only tags I know are TD and TR.

Thank you for the honest feedback. Rarely does one get to see the other side of one of the most controversial issues in recent history -- and when they do, the reaction is as you said. They love it or they hate it. I'm guessing you don't smoke. You are to be honored for having the maturity to do what was asked of you, instead of starting a flame war.
You should see some of the hate mail I get...

Ok, first of all why dont you learn a little bit more about your own site before quoting it. You said up above that second hand smoke kills ZERO people each year, BUT you say something different on your site!
"Even using the adjusted confidence intervals, the EPA found a risk factor of only 1.14, which is so low as to be completely irrelevant. Continuous exposure to secondhand smoke is associated with a 14% increase in lung cancer, compared to the rate for nonsmokers who breathe no secondhand smoke at all. At current rates of cancer, this causes less than one death per year. Not 3,000, not 5,000, and certainly not 53,000."
Even though this simply is not true anyway, it just goes to show that you are a hypocrite. Also, you should respect the so called "smoke nazis" because, even if you dont like them, they are only trying to help you and them selves. You also suggested that I was unkind to you, but I disagree, i think my first post was polite even though I knowingly avoided your question. Maby when you get lung cancer you will regret making your website, or maby when one of your friends or family members dies from smoking ciggarettes you will regret it.
Now, back to your original question:
I think your site looks nice, and is full of content. But it is rather simple, wich is refreshing to most people, but maby try and spice it up a little bit? I would also trade lots of links with other smoking websites, and maby join a affiliate program selling ciggarretes? Good luck, and I hope one day (if its not to late) you will learn the dangers of ciggarettes and not spend a crazy amount of money every year on ciggarettes. Why not do something productive with all that money rather then spend so much money just so you can relax, or whatever ciggarrettes do for you.

...according to the EPA report declared null and void by a federal judge.
Innocent until proven guilty.
Anyone who wishes to continue this flame war is invited to do so on my message board. Leave this board for its purpose.

lol... I say I have a "minimalist philosophy", but it's really because I don't know anything more advanced than TD BGCOLOR=____. I will look into trading links and maybe brush up on my HTML.

I was about to register to reply to the posts on that link but I would rather not waste my time arguing about something, when I can not change your point of view. Also, the post by *Jay* was completely distorting my words, you also say that I am telling you how to run your life, quite the contrary, rather I was giving you suggestions in order (even if its not true) to help you. Of course you have the right to smoke ciggerettes, but I was just saying that you should not smoke them around people if they dont like it for any reason out of common curdicy. Also, you continuassly reference ONE judge who make a ruling in your favor, when there are probably 10 times more that ruled against ciggerrettes. If you want me to, I can find a million cases of FEDERAL judges agreeing with me and not you.

Duh.
If I am smoking in public, and I am asked politely to put it out, you know what I do?
I put it out.
Immediately.
