Hello gradu898,

Welcome to Webmaster-Talk!

About your site:

Well, to be honest, it looks like you did put some work into it. But there is not much potential to actually make some real money from it (looks like this was your goal) for a few reasons.

I recommend finding a hobby or subject you are interested in and then build a site around that idea. If you are making decent money from this site, then I apoligize. But there are many many sites simliar to yours. Your site is mostly only links to other sites via affiliate links. And all of you are fighting for top positions in the search engines.

My suggestion. If you want to make some money from this type of site...

Buy a domain name! You can get them pretty cheap now days.

Design one keyword rich page for each merchant. (basically a doorway for each page or keyword you are targetting). Maybe buy some PPC advertising also. If you have questions about opimization, ask in the search engine and direcotry forum.

Your site fits it's purpose. But it needs lots of optimization work if you ever want any traffic to the site. As well, I suggest a nice logo. To be very honest (please don't take this the wrong way), I think you are waisting your time until you learn more about optimization and how search engines work.

Well, I know many of my suggestions are very broad but hopefully this got you thinking a little.

Answer this question... What are your hobbies? What are you interested in? Then start over and design a great content site focused around this subject.

Thanks for joining us!

Hey Cal,

Here's some IMO's and some suggestions.

I suggest you have a page or paragraph that explains the intent or purpose of the site. Is it a directory of personal favorites, affiliate links, etc.? Can and how do others get links on your pages? An About page could help a lot.

Of the pages that I went to, there is no navigation back to the main page. On the main page is a link to the Index, but it only gets a 404 page at FreeYellow. I do suggest some navigation, especially back to the main page.

I suggest that anywhere that has a graphic, such as a banner or button, and also has a text description that you center the text with the graphic.

From working with a friend on a directory/search engine site, be aware that some hosts do not allow links to "questionable" sites. You can check your host's TOS about that.

Hope that helps some!

Dave
