Help Needed Urgently !

Hi every one ! This Forum looks realy intersting and I'm glad that I've joined it now , and cause I don't have much time , I do have a quick question and need your help about it pls !

It's about the screen resolution which one is the standard now ,
800 X 600 or 1024 X 768 ? I'm confused and don't know if there is a way that could fit each one of them , like a script that would expand the page design to the right resolution .. any idea pls ?

Firstly

secondly to ur q,

design ur site using % values then you will not have to worry abt which screen resolution ur visitor comes in..

after technology improvements, atlease 60-70% ppl use 1024x768..

but again this depends on which continent/country or rather who are ur target audience.

if ur audience is going to be one from say,india,srilanka, pakistan, etc.

then mostly 800*600 is used.

again if u target usa,europe,aus.. then 1024 should not do anyharm..

but
BEFORE U DO ANYTHING. CHECK UR SITE IN BOTH RESOLUTIONS.. SO THAT U GET WHAT U DESIGNED FOR..

expand page design??

u can use js to detect the resolution and redirect them to the appropriate pages.. but again that is double trouble. u have to do the pages twice. one for 1 resolution and 1 for other resolutions..

it is best if u keep ur table widths to PERCENTAGE values. so that they will expand and contract with the resolution..

That surely helped alot ! I totally forget about the % thing , I will try and see if I won't face a problem cause I'll use an image as a background and a side frame maybe, if it didn't work with me I guess u r right about the 1024x768 its the most common now , thanks again for the nice 'welcome' also
