Hi Dan,

I really enjoyed the color and font scheme of your website. (The only thing I would question is the use of Times in the individual articles, as it doesn't seem to match.) The layout was very professional, and the main page caught my attention. Unfortunately, the navigation bar was very distracting because of the inconsistency in font choice. I see that the "Game Development" and "Web Development" pages are not finished. In that case, why not eliminate those from the nav bar for the time being?

Consistency with your header is another major issue. While you have the full logo, banner, and header on the main page of your website, on the other pages, it seems lacking. The logo is smaller, and many features are missing.

I see some other minor problems that you might want to fix. The small text at the very top of your main page looks very awkward up there. It sounds like something better suited as your page title. In addition, I recommend centering the bottom two banners in alignment with the table rather than with the entire page. Finally, I recommend that you move your "Site Search" textbox closer to the Go button, and change the value of the textbox to "Site Search" (in other words, get rid of the colon).

I hope this review has helped.

Overall: 7.2

Conkermaniac,

Thanks for your review. Here is a followup:

>>I really enjoyed the color and font scheme of your website. (The only thing I would question is the use of Times in the individual articles, as it doesn't seem to match.) The use of Times? I think you mean't W3Times?

>>Consistency with your header is another major issue. While you have the full logo, banner, and header on the main page of your website, on the other pages, it seems lacking. The logo is smaller, and many features are missing.

The header on the other pages will be simplified -- something were still working on due to the fact that were giving more emphasis on banner ads and articles.

The small text aids new users to the site -- lets them know what the site is about. And more importantly makes the site search engine friendly.

Dan

Just had a look at your site - It's good - I liked the apearance and ease of navigation! I'll certainly be back!

Only one sugesstion - when I went to the graphics page, there is a non active link to ">>web development", so I went looking for more as this is my area of interest - couldn't find anything - was left a little confused!

Clearly you intend to expand and I can see great promise - would you be interested in reviewing/analysing products featured on my website (free and retail)? http://free.bokan.net and http://products.bobkan.net

I would be very interested in featuring such reviews (perhaps a link next to the product?)

Would you do the same for me? www.bobkan.net

Would you like to exchange a link? http://link.bobkan.net

Would you like me to promote your site? http://submit4free.bobkan.net or http://priority.bobkan.net

To discuss further you can contact me here

Look forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

As others have said already, the site looks very good. Nice design!

I agree with conker on a couple of points, though. Firstly, the nav bar having different sizes of text looks a bit strange.

Secondly, the review formatting looks a bit strange for a few reasons.
1. I don't think Times New Roman is really the best font for them, doesn't seem to fit with the site. Why not try Arial size 2 or Verdana?
2. The section titles (e.g. 2. Video and Audio Playback) are in the same font as the main text. I feel they would look better if made bigger/bold.

Apart from that, the site seems to work very well. Nice design and logo. I like the search feature as well. Seems to be quite effective.

Just out of interest, is that a custom CMS or a freely available one that you are using for the site?
