I'm agreed with Taylor ! Moreover, the new trend is XHTML + CSS and that's easy to understand 'n use.

Negative words do help developers to enhance their knowledge and do better at any level of skills ! They make you see what's wrong with your works and how you could improve them or what you can learn to not do the same faults in the next work.
Moreover, if somebody comes here, he assumes that it's a place where crits are made, not only positive, fortunately ! If only positive crits were made, this would mean designs are almost flawless.
- Colours don't get well together : light blue (okej why not), black (yes, could be), white (if used properly, why not), dark green (wtf ?), grey (huh ?).
- Borders are too thick compared to the content.
- The idea of using Flash is good. Using a structure with rectangles and suddenly put some ellipses in the menu is weird, hence the way the .swf is designed doesn't fit the site.
- The sound on the buttons is a bit annoying. Why this electrical sound ? Because of "spired" ?
- The overall doesn't look good as you may know.

I have to say for someone who is new to webdsign I am rather impressed...they are just jealous ;-)

Are you joking ? I didn't know that this forum was here to comfort designers rather than for crits... Even if it's kind from you, does it help him to see what's not good in his design ?
Finally, that's not a bad start but I think you should improve your skills (XHTML + CSS and also try to design stuff in photoshop with the help of tutorials, there's plenty of tuts on the web) if you want to do some sites for other people.
Anyway, don't be discouraged, I think you have a lot to learn if you want to be able to design a correct website.
Good luck.
