Well I'll be the first to admit it, I'm a noob in the grand world of web design, but I'm taking some courses and learning a little more each day. Here's a little something I call E-spired Creations, it's only html with a hint of flash so it wont be quite as entertaining as most others that have all sorts of programming, but tell me what you guys think about it so far, any and ALL comments are welcome. www.espired.gapgirls.com

alright, first things first. the one thing that stands out when i first get to the site is that it looks rather antiquated, almost like a website you might have seen 8 years ago.

in terms of the animation for the left side navigation buttons, i'd probly either remove the animation altogether, or make it a SHORTER animation. even better i think would just be a rollover effect, rather than the whole rotation thing.

i might also consider getting rid of the white lines separating the header, navigation pain, and main content, or at least doing something to make that green line below the "e-spired creations" header the same color as the white lines separating the panes.

Very basic looking, but you`ve done well for a newbie to webmastering, it`s easy to understand and does the job, well done and good luck.

What I know for sure is that I enjoyed your "Image Gallery". After seeing some of those pictures, I'm happy I don't get drunk .

Your site has some problems..

I discourage the use of frames!

One MAJOR MAJOR problems is that this: <script language='jscript.encode' src='/root/%61%64%73.php'></script> is outside of the <head></head> tags. You CANNOT have ANYTHING above the docutype, not even xml declaration. put that^^ in your head tags.

Did you use a template.. theres just comments everywhere like its a template or somthin

3/10

I applaud your hard work, and do not be discouraged by negative words.

I think that your page is well laid out I would however change your title graphic. I find the relection distracting. Also I agree with dpakman91 don't use the flash links, they are too long and our culture of instant gratification requires a shorter time. I kind of like your non-flash links, but you should definatly have a roll-over effect.

Take care

Here I am, again. I went to your website to see more of your pictures and read from those jokes, proverbs, etc. and now I noticed I can't see all the options (I don't know where I was looking the first time I visited it). I guess it's because I use a 800x600 resolution... I tell you this just in case you care about people like me who want to see everything, but they can't . Best of luck!

I'm agreed with Taylor ! Moreover, the new trend is XHTML + CSS and that's easy to understand 'n use.

Negative words do help developers to enhance their knowledge and do better at any level of skills ! They make you see what's wrong with your works and how you could improve them or what you can learn to not do the same faults in the next work.

Moreover, if somebody comes here, he assumes that it's a place where crits are made, not only positive, fortunately ! If only positive crits were made, this would mean designs are almost flawless.

- Colours don't get well together : light blue (okej why not), black (yes, could be), white (if used properly, why not), dark green (wtf ?), grey (huh ?).
- Borders are too thick compared to the content.
- The idea of using Flash is good. Using a structure with rectangles and suddenly put some ellipses in the menu is weird, hence the way the .swf is designed doesn't fit the site.
- The sound on the buttons is a bit annoying. Why this electrical sound ? Because of "spired" ?
- The overall doesn't look good as you may know.

Are you joking ? I didn't know that this forum was here to comfort designers rather than for crits... Even if it's kind from you, does it help him to see what's not good in his design ?

Finally, that's not a bad start but I think you should improve your skills (XHTML + CSS and also try to design stuff in photoshop with the help of tutorials, there's plenty of tuts on the web) if you want to do some sites for other people.
Anyway, don't be discouraged, I think you have a lot to learn if you want to be able to design a correct website.

Good luck.

Thanks everybody for those comments, I view em all as positive since I'll learn something from them, and I'll soon redo it and try out some new things with it. And I'm glad you all enjoyed what little content I have there. Hopefully I'll be posting more soon enough.
