Hello,

Well, I'm going to be brave and do it: Please tell me what you think - don't be too brutal, I'm not a true webmaster but more of housewife.

My site:
Free Online Courses for Eveyone!
Thousands of links to free online courses, tutorials, tips, tests, and other educational information.

Thanks in advance for looking at the site and posting your comments.

Hi kcwell,

I'm full of IMO's but I will give them later. I went to your site to do a review and started exploring. I kinda' lost track of the review with all the exploring, so I will come back and do a review.

But, upon first look at your site, I don't understand

My first impression says that maybe more "webmasters" need to be "housewives" 'cause it looks good so far. That was meant as a compliment!

Anyway.....a better review to follow.......

Ok, I'm back and ready to review.

Appearance Nice looking site. Nice logo and title. For my curosity, why the animal track for the logo?

Functionality Load time was decent. Navigation was easy (with lots of places to go!). A couple of pages had two choices in the bottom navigation, Link to us and Webmaster, which links to same page and one of them could be removed. For example, on page http://www.docnmail.com/sitemap.htm. The Contact Us page, for example, didn't have any navigation back to other pages, I suggest it does (in case one does not want to fill out the form, same with several other pages). I didn't find any bugs or broken links, and I think that's great with all the links on there.

Overall & Content Very purposeful site and form does follow the function. Have you ever thought of adding articles? For example, how to get the most out of learning online, or how to use long distance learning, etc.

Technical This is where I pick on your grammar or spelling. Hmmm, can't find any at the time. I did find your reference to this site as FWT Forum, and it needs changed. At http://www.docnmail.com/learn/WebDesign.htm.

I rate your site as an 8. I think it's a good site. I'm still wondering what a "true" webmaster is........

First, Chief thanks for the warm welcome - I'm very new to this forum business and have decided that I picked a great one to start with!!

Wow! Dave thanks for reviewing the site and your excellent suggestions - I've institutued most of them already.

The paw print is for my husband, who is a giant Penn State fan, and my biggest supporter.

I like your idea for adding some articles and am planning to attack the project soon.

Okay kcwell, here ya go

Things I like:

I like the colors.

It is nice not having to scroll right (which should never happen) AND scroll down on the home page. What you see is what you get!

I like how you have an online form on the contact us form. It makes things a lot easier (and you also have a link to your email if we wanted to use another method to send you an email.

Seems to have lots of content, but I suggest adding more of your own to keep people on you site longer.

Your "Link to Us' Page is WELL done (allowing banners, text links and Drop-Down boxes!

You linked to us.

Things I think could be better:

Since your site is somewhat of a directory, I suggest having external links open in new windows. For example, I went to: Free Courses > Investing. When I click on any of the links it takes me away from you site.

"Free Newsletter - Enter your e-mail" So what is your newsletter all about? I user might not join simply for the fact that they don't know what they will be getting.

-------------------------------------------------
Overall, I would give it an 8.5! Nice job!

Hi kcwell, I fully agree with the opinion of Chief and Dave... you have really great site with nice looking layout... actually I still can't belive that you're not webmaster(and considering if I have right to call myself webmaster in this case)
The site is looks really good but I found two bugs or maybe features... who knows so here they are I try to submit URL of course I fill all fields but when I try to submit it I realize that both "Submit info" and 'reset" didn't work...
Also I encounter that if use "return to course list" link from the submission form it return me to identical to index.html page but called "LearnLinks.htm" with the light blue poisonos colors on navigating links which is not too pleasent for eye(i found that you use in CSS style on this page #00CCFF color instead of #336699 used on the index).
But overall I like your site very much I add it to my reciprocal links. Keep on this good work!

Hi Phoenix,

Boy you were right!! I made some changes to the form yesterday and must have deleted the <form> tags. It's working now. Thanks a ton!!

Also thanks for the link on your 'Reciprocal Links'. I have you listed here Free Online Web Design Courses. Let me know if it looks okay.

Hey, maybe some of us "housewives" have too much time on our hands. Hee Hee! But really, thanks for the awesome compliment!
