First, I'd like to say that I do like the 3 column setup, it's organized and helps to prevent searching for things.

The banner image should be saved as a gif or a png. There are jpeg artifacts on it.

The image that goes behind "menu" and the other titles should be removed. It's a bit messy and detracts from where you want people looking, right in the middle. If you wish to keep them, they should also be saved as gifs, the quality of that kind of image in jpg goes down.

Links. There's nothing wrong with the text links themselves, but changing to bold causes the text to move around, and causes wrapping that changes back and forth as the mouse goes over it. This, simply, doesn't look good. The overline could be done without, though it is completely preference.

I suggest moving your sponsors banners to the bottom of the page, however, and have the individual banners rotate. The colors and movement distract the eyes to that side of the page, when you want the viewer's eyes in the center.

Other than that, it is a well designed and, for the most part, clean site.

Hello, I'm pretty oriented with my colour chart, and I didn't see on there that gray mixes with blue, white, and green. I'm impressed with the structure of the site, but I fail to see why the graphics are not oriented into the rest of the site. I think you should switch your font to Tahoma (11px), as your main font. Also, the headers (ie: links: sponsors: menu) are all aligned differently. Consider making them a bit more structured.

I like the accessability of the site, and the fact that the layout is simple and effective, but heck, why not make the navigation rollover images? Perhaps a shade of light blue? That way, they are more noticable. Also, try to orient more graphics to keep the user from staring at white pages flooded with text.

I hope this critique is helpful, and easy to understand. If you have anymore questions, PM me, or send me an email at: agskipper@hotmail.com

I don`t like the header, it feels dull and cheap, the titles above the tables IMHO are to big, a smaller welcome title would look much better.

The sponsors section is ok and neat, the grey also feels alittle dull, it would be nice to see a 3 package area on the front page with alittle eye candy.

Not much else I can say other than well done so far, but IMHO it needs more work, Happy xmas.

PS: I don`t want anything for the review.

Several things that come to mind:

1) I don't really like some of the parts on the adbar it seems to much like an "ad bar", there are some images that I'd ad-block immediatly. I like the big long globe@ ad better it runs smoother and seems like it's part of the site, remove the smaller midphase, startlogic etc... ads, these should be displayed elsewhere, possibly at the bottom of the page.

2) It was taking me a long time to download your page for viewing. Try optimizing your images. Note I ran a speed test on your site and it would take a 56K mode 30.32 seconds to download your front page (http://www.websiteoptimization.com/s...com/index.html)

3) I like the idea of the overline on the link mouseover, but I don't think it fits with this site, seems distracting at times.

4) The capitalizing on the links is also distracting, especially when the line moves.

5) I'd like to see a "Featured Deal" on the front page and some more colour

I know it's been said before, but change the grey bars (http://www.webhostcomp.com/results.php?select=php) to blue or something more, seems dull. I'd also like to see more on the page instead of more pages. I hate clicking next, and I'd hate to be the hosting company on the last page where no one goes.

I think that this is a good project and that you should continue with it as it is something that webmasters would really find handy.

Good luck

Hey thanks everyone for the great set of replies. I've been on vacation for the last while and just got back today. So, to start things off right I made some changes to the site like you suggested. I'm still working on some things though but perhaps you'll like a few of the changes.

1) I got rid of a lot of links on the left and also created rollover buttons since nobody liked the rollover effects.

2) I got rid of most of the ads, which saves on the loading time and "selling" look.

3) I'm not entirely sure I'm competent enough to make a great logo. But I did make another one that hopefully looks a little better.

4) More changes on the way.

5) Anyone have comments on the ease of use (or lack of?)?

I really like the new look of your page.

I would bring the grey of your banner down behind your navbar as well.

I'm guessing you're going to move and format the Contact and About Us portions. If not, I'd say that you should.

I really like it though, keep up the good work.
