I think it looks good. My only suggestion would be to add some sound. Music or guitar playing in the background.

Also, where you talk about how hard it is to tune a guitar, you should record the proper notes so maybe someone could attempt to tune themselves to your recording.

Looks good at first glance. I think you have a lot to work with, but parts of it still look fairly cheesy. I like the blue, and the design on the sidelinks.. but can't you pick a better 2nd color than plain old gray?

Top left area of the site looks solid.. but the further down or to the right you go.. things start to look cheesy. Get rid of those links.. makes it look like a link farm when you scroll down.

This is a nice looking site, no problems as far as I can see, the ads need some kind of order though, they appear to be just plnked there, well done and good luck.

I think you have some font problems. The font is all bold, and it hurts my eyes. The headers are odd, as one letter is white while others are yellow 0_o

Yeh I have to agree with wiz, the Fonts are a little in your face. The design layout is nice however, and is a good start. I have to disagree with regards to the Sound being added in the bg. I used to have sound on my site - but I realised that its not a good idea. 70% of the people visiting your site will be listening to their OWN music whilst browsing the net - BG music tends to put them off. Well thats the reaction I got from my site anyway

Regarding sound - it can be effective particularly if you have a site that warrants it. You could use flash to run a sound loop, scripts and royalty free loops are freely available. Try http://www.flashkit.com/index.shtml. Provide users with a small "music-on/music-off" toggle so *they* can decide whether or not to listen to your sound.

Regarding site - nice overall layout. Header - left column - body is a classic layout and it works. The header could use a little work. How about a logo? You can get pro logos for under a 100 bucks these days! gotlogos.com is one, but shop around.

Hit Counters are a bit amateurish.

You'd maybe get more signups to your newsletter if you provided a link to a privacy policy right under the signup box.

Spelling error: Under employment link What personal traits do you poses that make you the best canidate? Should be "possess" (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=possess)

Spelling error: Under employment link "instuctor's" should be "instructors".

I'm not sure about the USA but in Europe you can't solicit donations for charity unless you are a charity or you're acting in an official capacity for a charity. http://www.firstpicguitar.com/help.html

Overall, neat site, good layout but spelling and some graphics need your attention man!

Best of luck with the site!
