I'm just about done with COskiing.com. I plan to officially announce the launch on Monday after taking the weekend to do any final tweaking. Please take a look and let me know what you think!

Greg,

Wow, what a great, functional site. I love all the great information, news and resort reviews that you have. A lot of your content is from off-site, but there is nothing wrong with that -- you are creating an information portal that's simple and attractive.

A couple of things -- Headlines are meant to be ultra-summaries of a news story. Let us at least see the entire headline -- the truncated text along your left border left me annoyed that I couldn't scan down to find a story interesting to me. I understand that you need the screen real estate, but that is something you need to fix - same for the Recent Discussions -- let us see the titles.

Your navigational bar is a little too understated and a bit lost there near the top of the page but not quite. I am not a big fan of the ads, but I understand you need to make some cash.

Interesting logo you have there -- I think the orange and blue actually go pretty well. But you need something a bit more visually appealing -- a ski, mountain or some other visual element supplementing what you have or some version of it.

A great, functional site -- so few that we see here get that tag -- congratulations and good luck.

6.5/10

very nice... one suggestion... increase the size of the left panel as well as the links... Other than that it's all good.

WT Members,

I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we are a revered community on the internet. Other webmastering forums are working everyday to be more like WT. One of the things people know about WT is that they can come here and get intelligent, coherent feedback on websites. Please review the rules regarding site reviews (link in my sig block) which reiterates that site reviews such as "I like it." and "It's good" aren't really the quality of reviews our members our looking for. They are also against the rules here in WT.

Site Reviews are meant to be comprehensive feedback about good aspects of a site and those which could use some improvement.

Please review others' sites as you would like to have your own reviewed.

I think your site looks great! My only criticism is that you should make your header bigger and include more pictures of mountains, ski runs, skiers etc. As a resident of Colorado I have seen many ski websites in my day and while I think that you have done a great job with the content, you should really put more pictures in the site to draw people in and get them interested in what they could be doing.

I think the left menu could use some help. It's too cramped (as shown by the ... dots). This will allow the date should be next to the topic, not under.

For example, instead of having

news
date
news
date
news
date

You will have

news date
news date
news date
news date.

I think this would look much better and be easier to read.

Thanks for all the helpful feedback. I spaced out the left border a bit more, and also included the full headline. Please take another look and let me konw what you think now.
