Hi

Now that I've finally wrapped up my hawgbuster site, time for me to get working on my antivirus site. I have a registered domain called www.antisource.com - the purpose of this site will be to bring together a plethora of antivirus resources for network administrators. This was inspired by me spending nearly 6 months researching and testing various AV software packes and writing reports about them, to roll it out on our network. There seems to be a complete lack of a central portal for this. So, Antisource.com was born.

I'm a bit stumped where I should start.

Colors?
Layout?
Main focus?
Possible ways of earning revenue?

Suggestions welcome!
thanks,
Rick

Looks like you have a good start on the layout and colors. I like the scheme now. It's simple but professional looking.

Your research and testing results could be part of the content of the site. Plus adding links to where the AV software, information sites, etc., can be found would be a good addition.

When thinking revenu, you might join an affiliate program or reseller program for the various AV's. You could rate them, place your links for them, if purchased, then some revenue is coming in, too.

You might want to consider broadening your purpose to include more than network administrators. But, that could be an extensive site.

I don't really want to use purple. I was just playing around with that. Or I use purple then it needs something else with it. What's on the site now isn't any serious attempt, it is just a temporary filler...

Well, I certainly can broaden the site's purpose, whatever brings me the most Return on Time. At first I want all content to be free and build up traffic and reputation, then I'm thinking of setting up a paid newsletter... really cheap, like maybe $20 for a year, and most big companies would see that as pocket change and their Network admins would get the newsletter and some other member features of the site.

This is so much fun. If I didn't have to work for a living I'd work on these sites full time.
