Hello Everyone,

Just like to hear your opinions so far on the new design of KDPC-XWebStudio's website!

We're now offering quite a lot, including new, professional, and high-resolutionstock icon sets, graphics, logos, and other artwork! (Including real "human" characters, made with vector graphics [samples coming soon])

The website is still under development, but the main parts have been completed :bingo:

Let us know what you think! I'll update this thread once all pages are complete.

Portfolio of logos (as not all are on the site) : http://www.webmaster-talk.com/showthread.php?t=17880

Thanks!
Anand A.

Your site is very good and your graphics design abilities are great. Though I would suggest adding some css to your links and only use underline if it is a link.

Good luck

Not bad at all, IMHO the top left header section is abit overloaded and needs some balance, maybe add links to the testimonials sites and the font IMHO is to small, good luck.

First the Main Page:

First, My eye does not know where to start, you need to have an element that draws the eye to purpose and main objective of the site.

Second, your logo (in the top right) does not match the rest of your site at all. I would eliminate the logo in the corner and replace it with the logo in the center of the page. Then I would move the news up

Third, the menu on the left does not line up right in Safari, the text is not above the lines (which I am assuming was your purpose). Also your testimonials header is a bit off.

Fourth, there is some empty space between the end of the content and your footer with the copyright info.

----

About us:

Replace the logo in left with the one in the center.
I would restrict the news box and welcome message to the main page only.

----

Portfolio
(All comments from about us apply)
The second coloum of graphics is center raither than aligned left or right, it gives a feeling disorder.

----

Current Projects
(Same comments as about us)
This is my favorite of all your pages, it is cleaner than the rest.

----

Ok now for the good things.

I love the color scheme.
I like the roundness of the elements in your page.
I like the placement of the member login, it will make for easy access to your members.

I think is will be a great website when it is cleaned up a bit

Overall 5/10

I hope I wasn't to hard on you

Hey thanks for the great review, it wasn't harsh, it gave really good suggestions and improvements to the design.

But just one problem... how can I test on Safari? I've been testing extensively on Firefox, Netscape and IE, but I guess there's more html placement problems with other browsers... I'll try using pure CSS instead, that would probably do the trick?

And for the porfolio, I wasn't sure how to proceed... is there an alternative way in showing off the images (they're all different sizes too...) ? I have like 20 other logos to show as well, but not sure how's the best way to design the page to make it nice and professional.

Oh and one more question this one: http://www.kdpc.info/premade.php how is that as a layout?

Thanks again!
Anand

Safari is Mac OS X only browser so it is impossible to test on a Windows computer (without the aid of a Mac emulator, yes they do exist). Like I said the premade page is one of my favorites, I would just move the blue logo to the corner and string the premade header across the width of the content frame. Let me think about the portfolio page. Ideas tend to pop into my head when i least expect them.

Edit:
Here is a screen shot of what I see in safari.
Screenshot

As far as your portfolio goes I would align all the logos left and move that second column where the blue logo currently is.

Hiya, how you doin?...

Ok, overall "first visit impression" (as a prospective client type thing)....not quite sure where the "start is"...nothing kinda "leads me in"...there are wonderful colours, and real "cutey" icons/graphics (very clear, clean and fast to load)...but, no discernable navigation...(Ive been soooo guilty in the past of the very same thing!!!) I know you have the clickable navs down the right hand side (which actually IS correct, since most users are right handed, and to have navs on the left means pointers cover other information)

I expected the text that goes along with Premium Logo Design/ High-Res Icon Design to be clickable, and the actual clickable area is too smalll (I have the very same fault on my site!!!!)

Although the layout is good, in as much as its different, even as a very seasoned surfer, I did wonder where to look next?...it didnt "flow"

When I then looked back, reviewing as a designer, I found a few things that require "tidying"....

1. The left hand (immediate look logo) is comletely out of synch with the rest of the site colours and design. (on its own, its lovely!, but as part of this site...hmmmm...it jars)

2. The middle section of the header images, (the clouds?) dont line up perfectly, they are around 4 pixels out, whihc ...ok, I know its banal, but it kinda shows a "rushed element"...

Your testimonials are not clickable, and whilst they say great things, I had to search for them, then remove the commas before connecting to the sites. It might be a better showcase for you, if these sites were simply clickable links. ..and to be honest, "www.secureyours.com" for me, is not a good example graphically, of what you can achieve.

3. Your portfolio page, contains nothing clickable, there are no live sites behind this, and several "www.addresses.com" just dont exist. *jokerproductions.com*...you would be better advertising these as "examples of logos" rather than a "portfolio". (I know you have covered yourself, by the alt text on the link, and by the small text above the first image...but...hmmm, as a prospective client, I WOULd think I was heading for a full website..but thats only my HO.

4. Also, the designs of the logos, just seemed very "samey" to me...(but Ive been accused of the same thing, and I know if it works, dont re-invent it) how about separating them up with slight different logos?

5. "see other porfolio types" goes nowhere, the same with the little icons below that strip of text. Id be really put off by that. (sorry!!!!)

6. I didnt find "Let Us Create Your Dream World... on the Web!"™
Give us a try and see the clear difference!" to be a fiar statement of what seemed to beon offer, considering the layout and design elements....

7. Please, I thought I would give a detailed review of a site I think will go places, overall it has a great "feel", lovely colours and sharp images/icons...but ...hmmm...it just seemed "disjointed"....nothing seems to flow, or be consitant, apart from the blue colour....

Anyhoos, I still think it looks good compared to many, and will do well...just me being detailed tonight!

cheers, scotia

Very nice layout and colours. My only hangup is the grey box in upper left, do something else there or nothing. Good job.
