I have a template that I would like to get some opinions on.

I am also looking to rediesign http://searchsimple.com but so far most comments on other boards have indicated I should leave it alone.

they look nice to me, I'd like to see a bigger version though before saying much more... they're both good looking (is the only difference the background bit changing colour in #1?) Some sort of a menu somewhere on the left could be added I think...

IMO, they both look good. It would depend on the purpose of the site on which one to use.

There's only a couple of things that I would change on SearchSimple. The index page everything is centered and looks good. But I suggest raising the logo on the other pages and not leave so much space at the top. All the pages can fit on a screen without any scrolling.

Don't know if it was my browser, but the index page took an extreme time to load. It might be worth checking. And we'll see if others had the same problem.

thanks for the comments. any comment on the beveled logo I'm not thrilled with it is it safe to say I should do some minor changes and leave it alone.

Any opinions on adding some banners for link exchanges,affiliate,etc

Well, The suggestion that i would make is to make a menu for the left that 'floats'. Have two main looks. On the main pages where you have sub pages use the floating menu on the left. Then for the sub pages that have no sub categories use the one without the floating menu.

id say go with #1, but a different fade, maybe from dark blue to lighter blue.

Thanks all for the comments. I plan to do several templates and put them up for sale. can I get some comments on (LINK SNIPPED) I designed the template and would like to know if it works in all browsers

So is everybody saying I really dont need any changes to searchsimple.com

can someone point me in the right direction to get some traffic without exchanging buttons to keep it clean.
