Hi Phoenix!

Here are my thought:

Good idea adding that poll

Initial Impression: Clean look with easy navigation. The flashing car banner was a little annoying though and makes my eyes go straight to it instead of other parts of the page. Which is good and bad I guess.

I would bold the top navigation links. And as well maybe bold the category title links at the bottom. The drop down menu is nice and keeps the site clean looking.

Nice banners. Did you make those?

I found a typo on "Feedback: - fill instead of feel
On Awards: "Awards we Win" - should be Won

I noticed on the http://www.weblamp.net/1ststep.htm page that the drop down boxes drop behind the top banner.

On a couple pages, I would consider breaking up the paragraphs a little. Ex. http://www.weblamp.net/seguide.htm Is a little hard to read with that one long paragraph.

Consider adding more original content or articles rather than mostly an directory of links. Tiggy has some articles that you can use on your site if proper credit is given.

Overall, I find it a very nice and useful site. Using the rating system, I would give it a 7, with a possibility of an 8 with some changes.

Any one else have opinions on his site?

Thanks for you review, you really help me to found some bugs and give some ideas to improve my site, a already fixed some bugs and next week when I have litlle more time I'll continue to imptove it. Thanks for idea with Tiggy's articles it could be great solution, I will check out this possibility next week.

-Flashing banner - it's changed hope new one looks litlle better
-mistakes in words - corrected(English is not my native language so I had to learn it all the time... what about other mistakes my girlfriend will check it in few days, hopefully after this you'll not find anything wrong )
-drop down menu behind the banner - this problem was known to me before but I thought that will find the solution how to place my javascrtipt menu in front of Flash and iFrame banners.. but it seem that I still don't anyone know how to do this? As for now I had to remove such banners to the bottom of the page...
-difficult to read page about search engines- you were right it was impossible to read this... but now I've made some changes hope it looks litlle better now.

Thanks again for you support.
I will be glad to hear more feedback on my site.

Hi Phoenix,

Here are some more opinions about your site.

The appearance looks good. I suggest a little intro statement telling what the site is about and that explains the name. That would satisfy the curious streak that some of us have, like me. I thought the table was good on the Partner's Sites page and you might want to use a similar table on the other pages that have buttons and descriptions beside or below the button. It might help with clarity, but is probably not an absolute. You might want to consider making the titles larger and some type of separation (a viewable table would do that) between subjects on pages like the Hosting and Domains page.

Load time was good. I signed the guestbook. There is a link at the top to sign, but it does not take you to the form below. That was basically the only broken link I found. Navigation is good and the drop down menus are good. You've already mentioned the one little trouble spot with the banner.

The overall appearance seems to match with the site and makes it a nice site.

For the technical part, there are a few gramatical errors. But nothing that is major or would keep someone from understanding. For English not to be your native language, it looks to me that you have done well! I was getting ready to tease Tiggy about her English, but decided not too, hehehe.....

With that in mind, I give your site a high 7. Keep up the good work.

Dave

Thanks for advices, some of them was really helpfull. Sorry I don't reply for so long but I was too busy to update my site and make the changes you advise me to do... but here they are

About intro I'm not sure but what exactly do you mean? If splash screen or intro page I actually against them because in my life I saw only few good one and I'm not sure if it's good idea to place something like this on the site of my category...
What about name here is the litlle story... this site is the second I made in my life the first was www.sensovision.f2s.com(I have made it in october 2001) and it's called something like "Build your own website" little later I change it's design cordinally and it's content too... I begin too look for a logo and as I'm seamen by profession and was just after my 5 month race in U.A.E. I look on the Alladin's Lamp(suvenir form Dubai) and decide to model something like this so I've done it and render this logo and call the site "Web Lamp - Light up your way to the Internet!" good no? I thought so at the beginning but some day I just find my site on some kind of search engine and realize that this title don't tell anything about my site and I just waste my title (in the meantime F2S delited all free accounts so I had to buy my own domain so in future I will not loose my search engine ranking if something is happend with my hosting)
and than I decide to call it as "Web site promotion tools" or "Web site promotion guide" don't sure which too choose
so now you know why my site is called "Web Lamp" it wasn't too bored and you don't slept on keyboard while reading this story

By the way maybe you gave my idea which tytle will be more appropriate for this site for now because I decdie in future leave this domain for my portofolio and call it "Web Lamp Design Studio"
but this is in future and as for now maybe you tell my which one is the good one:
1 Web site Promotion Guide
2 Web site Promotion Tools
3 Web Lamp - Light up way in web site promotion.
4 Web Lamp - Light up your way to the Internet!
5 Your name
Please choose the one you like or tell me you variant (Copyright will be saved I want soon to create credits section on my forum and if I took the name you will be there too) there is some mistakes in my names I will be appreciate if you tell me them.

Table matters: Yeah you know I look closer to my site and find out what with tables it's really more easy to read(my site on F2S was with tables and I make them invisible to make new look for the site... I think it was my error) But could I ask you to look on two of this page and tell which table is more appropriate Webrings and "Ratings / Top Sites".

Broken link in guestbook: thank you for locating this link I'm not fix it yet but now I know that I should do the same thing in my Web Links(FFA) because I build them on the base of guestbook(acually visa verca). When I have litlle more time I'll fix it.

I remove all banners or change them to usual images where is possible so drop down menu is not appear behind them anymore(only on one page I left iframe on "Web Tools " because I don't want to loose gold status member in Free-Banners.

As for engilsh as I promise we check it soon (I hope so)

Belive me if you read all this s**t till the end you could be proud of your patience because I try to read it myself to check for mistakes but I can't too so sorry for errors and mistypes and thank you for patience.

Hope this message will not overload your forum

Actually, you don't need a splash page, but you could add a page in the Contact Us menu that is called About Us. That would be a good place to explain your name, like your story above, and explain the purpose of your site.

I think you could probably use all the titles that Tim, The Chief, listed for different advertising campaigns. You could even have an ad more about Alladin, such as:

Web Lamp - Your wish for better promotion...Granted!

I just wanted to say that what I really like about your site is that there is valuable content there and that you have your affiliate links nested nicely into your web tools pages.
