Hey, I run. vgprojects.com along with a freind. We do webdesign, and are workin on the vgPortal. A php script for gaming websites. It also uses mysql. Anyway, if you want a design done drop by the site's forum or contact me through email.
If you could give our script and site a review that'd be great.

the vgPortal script looks fine, and i don't see much difference in it, it looks the same as the script used in this forum.
if you have any different features in it, why don't you tell us in specific.

a webdesigners site should be the best because i mean it is your job. great job on it, you really portray what a good and talented webdesigner you are.
background - at first i didnt like it but i got used to it
logo - i think you need something, maybe something a little wacky or something that looks professional, you just need some sort of image to represent you.
navigation - i like it, its user friendly and it looks nice.
links - maybe some rollovers? other than that, they are ok
layout - very organized and looks clean.
overall: 9
good job on everything about the site, there are some things that quite dont look so good but the entire design is great.

I agree with ghetto on a couple of points.
- the background was unusual at first, but then I decided I liked it
- rollovers would give it a little panache
- a distinctive (not disruptive, mind you) logo would be good
- some spelling errors
Great job! I give it a 9 too!

I like the design but the main buttons on the top nav bar are quite blurred compared to the sharpness of the rest of the site. I suggest changing them. Everything else looks great!

Thanx for the replies guys. It's true I do need a logo or something that they can recognize me by... and yea I have alot of spelling errors. But something is always holding me back from pressing shift F7 in Dreamweaver to check spelling... Also, what do u mean by background? The background og the windows explorer, page or content?

no, the white background is fine, i meant the greyish blueish one, the one all your tables seem to be in.
dont worry about it though, it gave me a wrong impression at first but now that i look at it, it looks OK.

yes sure,
here it is:
<STYLE type=text/css>.standard {
FONT-SIZE: 8pt; COLOR: #000000; LINE-HEIGHT: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif
}
A:visited {
COLOR: #F0FF0F; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
A:hover {
COLOR: #000080; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
A:link {
COLOR: #FFD700; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
#toplink:visited {
COLOR: #F0FF0F; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
#toplink:hover {
COLOR: #000080; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
#toplink:link {
COLOR: #FFD700; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
body { scrollbar-face-color: #000000; scrollbar-shadow-color: #00009C; scrollbar-highlight-color: #00009C; scrollbar-3dlight-color: #000000; scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #000000; scrollbar-track-color: #000000; scrollbar-arrow-color: #D9D9F3}
BODY, HTML, TABLE, TD, TH {FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; }
FORM {FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; FONT-SIZE: 9pt;}
H1, H2, H3 {color: #000099}
</STYLE>
thats rollover script and its scrollbar script, thats the one i used in my ghettocars site. modify the colors and stuff and the text decorations and come up with something cool

Yea, I know php. I think I'll be able to live off that for awhile until I need to know asp. What I realy want to learn is DHTML and then Java.

PASCAL stands for somehting i think, i just forgot what it stands for.
PASCAL is a waste of time and a really useless programming language that was used sometime in the 1700's and is now consider a "conventional language". I could have learned PASCAL and wasted my time on that. But business and video game designers now a days are using VB and C++ now they use CG (C for Games). I am learning VB and C++ this year for business programming, CG for gaming, JAVA for webbased and Oracle (another webbased one). If all goes right i should get my vocational degree in computer science sometime in 2005. Then off to college where i will learn for the first 3 years the same bullcrap i am learning now. Hopefully ill get my masters or professional degree in Computer Science, and start working for a company somewhere in Miami. Ill take up webdesign as a secondary job since it provides around 500 extra bucks a month a site I believe, and it is very easy.
by the way, pascal is not web-based.
