Please review my Host rating site.

My site is www.hostingscorecard.com and was launched Jan 2/09.

Please keep in mind that I am NOT a web designer. (I am actually a mechanical designer

).

I am trying to keep the design fairly clean and uncomplicated and I would appreciated it if I could receive comments on usability and clarity rather than just the design aspects.

It is a nice , simple and easy to use website. I'd say about 8/10.

At first glance, I was reminded of pages like this: simplivity.com
To say the least, that could lead to people leaving without even knowing what your website's about.

The header could just be a color instead of that, and you could place your websites name within the header. The border below is a nice little addition. The navigation is very simple and precise; good job. Your content shouldn't have such a big font-size though! 10px would do it. No one uses tables anymore! Divs are the way to go. Looks great, not too much and not too little. As said before though, you really need to scrap the tables!

When starting coding for the site I was fully intending on using CSS and not tables. I had so many problems that I gave up and spent 10 min creating the table version. I will admit that the layout at the time was more complex than it is now so I will be trying again.

Regarding the font size. I have it set to 100%, I am assuming that means it will use the browser default. Am I correct or is it defined some other way?

Looks fine, try to change your font size and style, i think you need to enhance it to look more attractive.

The site looks good except for the design of the graph...Some data can't be read clearly...

Your site is simple. Which is good.

I think that you could benifit from a new top banner for the site to make it look a little more professional.

Better placements of your advertising would benifit you. (IMO) Image ads are much better and can more attention than text ads.

I think that a little more color would help your site and also cutting up some text.

Other than the above, i believe that you have a good website and that it is a job well done.
