i like the look of the site. It has some good design principles. I like the sample better because it looks a little more professional. The only thing i would suggest is to make the shadow on the yellow a little smaller. It stands out to me a little much.
Thanks! I think I will go ahead and at least attempt to follow the image example. I realized that if I do that, I could incorporate much of what's on the Member's page into little sections that flow nicely with the rest of the page - especially like the moon phase and search engine.
I've actually contemplated whether or not I should tone down the shadow. You're the first person that's pointed it out, so at least I know someone's thinking the same thing I am.
