I just started working for the first time with flash, a customer approached me and wanted a website done completely in flash, so I'm still learning as i go. I'm really interested in design suggestions and info on the load time. I'm definitely going to have to build a preloader for the site once i figure out how, but since I have a cable modem, i have trouble figuring out just how slow it is. Any info would be greatly appreciated. It is a work in progress. Crazy Monkey Racing It is being hosted under another completely unrelated site right now because the ftp for the correct domain has not been properly setup yet.

hi,

your site does not look bad, and sorry i could not figure out the laoding time. i think its OK, i am using a DSL broadband

if you dont know how to make a preload, go to http://www.flashkit.com and search for it.

i see that their are few effects now, if you are making a flash site you should have some good eye catching effects.

then, about the photo's. those seems to be very low in quality i think it would be better if you could get some good quality photo's. so people would like them.

alrite, thats what i think about your site and hope that my comments also will help you to improve your site quality.

chao, xtravel

EDITED: HAHA OOPS I REVIEWED YOUR MAIN SITE BY CLICKING ON WWW INSTEAD! I'll review the monkey racing thing in a minute

Hi, welcome to WT, you'll find lots of useful tips etc here

Things I noticed
Loaded quickly for me with 512k broadband connection.

Looks fine to me, and the photo quality doesn't seem too bad to me btw, at least the ones i loaded.

and: http://www.sigmachizetatheta.com/b-s...ro/brogal.html was a broken link (linked to from http://www.sigmachizetatheta.com/a-section/photos.html)

I think it would be better if all the pages, incl for example the photo galleries, loaded inside the template, with the menu etc always available. IMO.

Good luck
Ben

yea ok i'll review the bit you wanted reviewed now then

Loading time fine with broadband

I know a lot of people who don't like sites to be made using primarily flash, but i like it when done well and i like your site there.

Nice looking IMO, although yes could be more high quality photos i suppose. video clips would be great too

I'd think ghettocars will be interested in this maybe, he has a car related site

I really like the way the info on on the 'team' page loads too

looks nice, I enjoy flash, but dislike the loading time. I would say make it bigger, its hard to read on 800x600px as it is, I pity whoever uses 1024x768px.

Nice site! Didn't seem to take too long to load (512K again, though), but a preloader might help a bit. I also liked the intro.

Favourite page was 'The Team'. I loved the effect with the pictures extending then moving into place as a watermark. Very nice effect!

I didn't have a problem with the size of the fonts etc. running at 1024x768 (17"). Seemed to fill the screen quite well.

The only complaint I'd have is the scrollbar, but I've never liked Flash/DHTML based scrollbars. I hate having to click repeatedly to move the screen. Any chance of having a more complex scrolling system?
