new PHP Tutorial Site

Hi everyone,

I've just finished working on a website for PHP tutorials, and I'm just looking for any feedback or opinions people might have on it.

In particular, I'm interested in any problems people might have with navigation, and the immediate first-impression people get from the site

A few issues:
1. The google ad in the sidebar looks a bit weird with no background div.
2. Get rid of the shadow behind the text in the header. Either you be consistent and put shadows behind everything, or put shadows behind nothing at all.
3. More blue. There's no dominant colour, the orange and blue are competing for attention.

I know you're a coder and you want to get that across, but that banner does not work for this site. A redesign may be in order.

Also, the Google search bar is confusing a needs a bit of a reshape. It could look much nicer and be set up a bit easier. Not to mention, when I used it I thought it would query Google. The background indication isn't necessarily needed, it con volutes things.

Oh, actually and yer had a good point about the orange. Though, I would top off the left content boxes with an orange line like the top to balance out the colors... maybe... meh.

Nice work, adding more specific categories should be great to help people get directly to the topics they're looking for

not bad... I would blend adsense better into the layout, to not look that much like adsense... nice background image

, also would change the color, something that goes better with the background....

Glad to see you made some changes. Now the orange is the clear dominant colour over the blue in the background.

However, your HTML is not valid. You should go to http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...egory%2Fphp%2F and see what you've done wrong, though it doesn't seem too serious. Just be happy HTML is not like PHP and doesn't return a parse error if you forget to end a tag!

I like the overall layout and even the colors work for the content, however... The header graphic for the title of the page is not working to well. And the categories appear to be broken until I rolled over them and noticed they are two seperate links, maybe consider adding some bullet points to the list of categories? Also you have few validation errors.
