Yes I think pixel advertisng has gone by the way side. Maybe do a blog on something you like and in a profitable niche.

my recommendations:
*change the logo so that it belnds well with the site and does not have that grey surrounding
*make the links on the top bar more visible, perhaps put them in bold or enlarge the text
*somehow make it go faster, on my pc it took quite a long time to load
