I edited an old website a few years ago to make the website look more professional. It was originally created with some template. I am redesigning the website to make it more functional, easier to update, easier to use, and better looking. I can do most things that I want to with html, but I do not have a website artist's vision. I need help deciding how to set my menu's up. The website I am building is http://www.jocci.net/mainframe.html . It should only be viewed with firefox. When I get everything the way I want it, I will build it so it works well in all browsers and frame sizes. For now, firefox is the only one that will work. If anybody has a good idea for a menu that would look really professional with the black and orange theme, please let me know.

First, I think you should go with an orange and grey theme. I like the color of the box behind the video and it would work well on your header to.

Also stick with one font. You have a cool construction font in the vid thing but your title is like 'Impact'. Pick one?

The logo on the left is horrible quality :/ if you only kept the logo part (orange circle) on there, cleaned it up, and got rid of the J.O. Collins stuff underneath since its already in big letters right next to it... that would look nice.

Also, I like the background image. Maybe its because I'm using Safari but it should be aligned with the left side of the screen. Right now it looks like its aligned right.

As far as the menu, align it left as well. I think if you made it a little bit bigger and gave it a title like 'menu' or 'portfolio' that that would help distinguish it as a menu.

One more thing, I like the mouseover effect with the menu but it interrupts what is going on in the vid that starts with the page load. If you took the text from the video ("welcome... serving the gulf coast") and added it above the box or on the right side of your page this could be fixed.

These are just my suggestions. If anything was confusing, PM me and I'll try to clarify Good luck!

I don't have a menu yet. It is just a blank frame on the left side. That is why everything appears to be aligned left. I will change the header and video to the same font. I am going to make a cooler video with more frames so it flows better. I have to make a menu page that takes up the entire left frame and I can't seem to make anything looks looks good at all. Mostly, I am having a problem with my color scheme. I can't think of a color scheme for everything that works well. It is hard to work with black, orange, and whatever else goes with those colors.

the colors you use don't really blend at all. the use of the blue print as a background is really ok... but don't blend well to the flash. all colors are contrasting. like what this ^ guy said, you don't have any menu at your site. maybe because it's still new.
