Well, I really like V2! But there are some things, that could be improved.

Your logo is hard to see against the wood grainish background, try introducing some contrast to improve branding.

Your navigation could use some roll over effects, this will increase interactivity on the site, and give the site a level of response. All your links could benefit from some type of hovered reaction.

The footer at the bottom looks a bit plain and flat since its only brown, trying bring the texture down or incorporating other colors.

Website is built using divs so thats always a plus.

And finishing notes: I imagine you used png files for your images because, the "transperant background" shows gray in IE6. Yes, I refuse to upgrade my IE. So you may need to work that out....

The layout and color scheme is really good, I am just really nitpicking..

Best of luck.

I have to agree with most of the things that rezzy said. The logo is hard to read, and you want that to stand out more. I agree that the nav needs some work as well. It looks very spaced out and boring. I also agree that something needs to happen with that footer. Even a gradient would make it look better.

Actually, no offense, but the color scheme is boring to me. It's brown and white, which is just kind of bland. Give it some color to make it pop! I also think you should make those url's on the right side into links. What's the point of a portfolio if you can't see the actual work?

Overall, good job. Just give it a little kick and it'll be great ^_^+

Well colors depend on what you're going for. A light blue or a light green would probably go best, one bringing a beachy feel and the other an earthy one ^_^+ That's more of a personal choice. Of course, if you wanted to be bold, you could do a bright orange or something else thats like a jewel tone. But that's only if you really wanted to make a statement. It's really more personal choice xD

Page titles are important. Naming your home page simply "Home" instead of using relevant keywords in the page title is a waste.
Your title banner is quite large and wastes space, as does your "welcome" bar

hey man,

Im re-designing my website design site currently at the moment (see sig).

I love your new re-design especially the way you made the logo match the specific background. However, maybe use some more colour in the menu, how about having a hover over effect on the menu text?

Nice work

Chris

A really simple but effective design which I like a lot.
I agree with Chris above, a simple hover on the menu could be an improvement.
To really nit pick try decreasing the font size of 'Boyles Web Design' in your logo so that the words fit exactly under the initials BWD.
