I think your design is great, to be honest. One of the best I've seen in a long time as far as aesthetics and usability goes. I really like the hover effects on the navigation menus, and I like the twitter widget.

5/10 for me.

Some of my thoughts:
- Brownish colour schemes are more difficult than most others, so make better use of patterns, gradients and constrast
- CSS could be structured better (parents, children, etc)
- Logo is a dislike for me
- header is toooooooooo big. Look at all the wasted space!
- Images look like they are pasted on. There is no depth/separation
- Layout could be structured in a way so the reader can distinguish between different groups of content
- images have no alt tags
- why are you using "BR" tags when it can be done in css??
- I don't like the idea of styling elements by ID instead of giving them classes
- not catering for IE6 is a no-no for me (png's)
- what is with the green links on brown backgrounds???
- css structure of form display incorrectly in IE 6
- there is no "nice" blend between the header and content or footer and content
- give some thought to the white background in the content. It looks too plain
- why are your headline images in the H1's offset to the right? Looks awkward

Otherwise, it's a big change from the last design and doesn't look too bad. You are on the right track, but it'll take a bit of playing around and experimenting to get things looking mickey-mouse.

Good advice, I made the site valid html and css. I have also made the twitter widget text white and downsized the text a little.
