hey all, so I've been working on this project of mine for a while now, and I'm at the point where I think I'd like to begin networking and making the site public. if there is any reason why I should wait to do this, or if I'd be wise to change something on the site before I do it, please let me know

Wow, there is some really amazing artwork there. Really impressive. I like the layout, look and colors. The only suggestion i have is think about making the page section stand out a little more. Mixed in with the large artwork pictures and the big google ad underneath it, it took me a little bit to realize there was more than one page.

hmm, I'm not sure what you mean by the page section. do you mean the other pages, like the resource page, or advertise page? or do you mean the individual pages for each post? (which I don't think you should even be able to view because there are no permalinks to them.) thanks very much though! I'll try to see what you are talking about.

I mean underneath the portfolio artwork, above the google ad there is "page 1 of 2" and it lists page 1 and 2. The navigation between the pages.

Great design however some features need more attention to detail. Example the "submit box" look a bit rough so do the "pages" buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Overall i reckon it has a lot of potential but just needs some polishing

Good Work

thanks. and yes, I agree I need to fine tune those things. I just tonight added a little something to the thumbnails when you rollover them, which I think adds a lot to the page; you can how rate the sites when you rollover.

are there any suggestion for how to make the empty pages more fancy? I know I need more content, that is the main problem, but I don't know what to do about the background. it is just gray and blends in with the main bg color. well, thanks again!

the whole "about portfolio's friend" which is telling us what this website is should be at the top of the page and not at the bottom. I got confused for a moment so i think that should be something to fix.

I like this site. TheGeekyOne said exactly what I was going to say. Move the about to the top. I got to the page and my first thought was... what is this?

I love it. The concept and the site are both awesome. The name could be better, but it works for now. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your input and advice. my reason for putting the about section at the footer is that it gives the viewer a reason to explore the foot of the page, and not just stay at the top with all the content. I wanted a way to force people to view the entire page. Also, once I add more content, there will be a lot of links, and info in the footer, to make it more interesting. as for being unclear on what the site is about when you first go to it, I agree, it isn't too clear. perhaps I will ad a brief line of text under the title saying something like, "A collection of artist portfolios." but a little more catchy

Hi All,
I like, infact I,m quite attracted to the site but feel the back ground colour is a little bland which means the website is not as striking as it could be. Just a little change in colour could I feel make a big difference in portraying the true magic of this site.

A little help at the start saves??

yeah, I've been thinking about that background color. the gray is rather dull. only problem is I'm trying to keep it simple and within that color scheme. I'll continue to think about it and try some colors out in photoshop. so, it's possible I'll be changing something about that soon. thanks!

I've changed the layout and design just a little bit, and I think it works better. more content has been added, as well. just want to see if you all think the new changes work better. of course if you never saw, or don't remember the older layout, it doesn't matter, lol. thanks.

oh and I couldn't figure out how to change the title of this post, so I hope it gets read now.
